S.W.A.T. Firefight

Was this originally a pilot movie for a possible TV series? That's what it reminded me of, instantly. Absolutely no imagination went into this production. From the very start it feels stale, overused, too familiar. I kept hoping they'd do something to jazz it up but the closest they got to what they must have thought was inspiring was these cheesy camera shots from the weapon point of view (was this a video game at one point?). It was even edited like most TV cop shows....from the 80s! As for the plot, pretty standard: a bad guy is after the good guys. That's it. Other than that, there was your forced camaraderie of officers, the training scenes, the angry commander constantly bellowing, the sick wacko killer, the vanilla good guy: all clichés. They even had the obligatory slo-mo triumphant strut of the team that could have been used as an opening shot of...a TV SHOW! This is as safe as you can get with a movie: it is what it is...run of the mill.That said. I did like Gabriel Macht as the unflappable instructor; he was interesting to watch in an uninspired role. Robert Patrick, on the other hand, was anything but inspiring as the crazed lunatic out to kill the entire cast. Robert Patrick specializes in playing villains. Unfortunately, it's the exact same villain every time, he has no range or depth, at this point it's past boring and now just tedious. Whenever I see his name in the credits of any movie I involuntarily cringe, preparing myself for the worst, which he always delivers right on cue.As a regulation cop thriller, this movie is strictly stock. Taken on that level it's not a bad waste of time. I'm not sorry I watched it. I won't, however, ever watch it again. Not a keeper.

I am a huge Gabriel Macht fan for alot of reasons. I normally hate this kind of movie, but honestly, I am addicted to Suits and wanted to see how he performed in another story. This is definitely a guy movie with all the macho posturing and gun play, but I have watched it three times now and it isn't just because of Macht. The movie grows on you. It doesn't hurt that the female leads are strong and interesting...It isn't the best movie I have ever seen, but it is well worth the money and the time.

The Terminator 2 guy makes an appearance. Good pace and action. Usual personal frictions and violence. No nudity. Enjoyed the movie.

Bought this because of Shannon Kane...(one of my best friends daughter) couldn't rent it at REDBOX so I figured I'd buy it to watch...The flick was actually pretty good...I was entertained and would watch again...which is saying something since I don't normally gravitate towards action/shoot 'em up flicks. And of course, Shannon does a great job and isn't bad to look at either!

Absolutely loved this movie! Bought it only because Gabriel Macht was in it but found it to be an excellent action flick with a little romance added. Great date night movie with the hubby. Acting is very well done and will keep you on the edge to find out what happens next. Robert Patrick makes a great bad guy! Very enjoyable movie! And if you are real fan of Gabriel Macht - you will NOT be disappointed!

Fun movie. SWAT has to deal with a psychotic, rogue government assassin after a hostage situation run-in with the nut job that doesn’t end well. The assassin blames SWAT for the situation of his making and seeks revenge. Interesting characters. Lots of action.

I did like the movie and would watch it again; but it will be a while before I do so. It was not up to par as the movie with Samuel Jackson and not up to par with the TV series; but it did have a good amount of action and there was a plot that you could follow. The acting was where I give it the OKAY rating. I did not think it was a strong cast and a good bit of the dialogue was hard to like.

I bought the movie because I loved the old show as well as the SWAT movie! It's very fast paced most of the time but at others they get too involved in the emotional drama's which detracts from the movie but over all it wasn't that bad (for a sequel)!

It is a good movie, acting is good and story concept is also good. I would have liked it if there was a greater depth to the characters so the viewer could be more engaged with them. As a viewer I felt as though I was a spectator than being part of what was going on. It is still good and worth having if you like these types of movies.

Excellent DVD well worth a watch

Es ist vielleicht keine mega Blockbuster, aver auf jeden Fall besser als das diesen Film fast niemand kennt.Viel Aktion, aber sich Humor. Eins großartiger Cast! Gabriel Macht kennt man aus Suits, Nicholas Gonzalez vermutlich aus The Good Doctor, Giancarlo Esposito aus Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul... Und wer die nicht gesehen hat, kenntt die Gesichter vermutlich aus irgendwas anderem.Grundsätzlich ist der Film spannend, wenn das Ende vielleicht auch etwas eilig ist, alles in allem zufriedenstellend. 90 Minuten gut investiert.
