Perfect peace of mind
Well worth the peace of mind when I made a rookie mistake of low pressure with my rose bud tip. I had a learning experience instead of a mishap.I mounted on the bottle end of the hose not the torch handle end. It was not clear to me which it was supposed to be mounted on. Either way my flashback fire in the tip was quickly corrected for but I was glad these were in place even though not "proof" tested by a near miss.

Didn't say air flow side before buying
Wasn't told which way the air flow went before getting, the arrows both point to the female sideGot to return and look for a different set

Safety first
I don't stress much with these on my Miller Little torch running Propane and oxygen. Does not affect the torch at all.

Haven't blown up yet: Four stars
Not that I care in the least, but FYI, the ones I received are branded with Miller blue and white.

Not as pictured
Would have had 5 stars but was not exact as picture. These came as another brand. But it was a quality name brand that came.

Different than picture
Didn't come as SMITH like the image. Still works great.

No Leaks and Torch works fine
I think these are a good cheap safety feature. It is pretty rare for the flame to go into the bottle, but I guess you never know, I have heard of it happening. It works (I guess). the strange part about reviewing it is that no one (myself included) has any idea if it actually works. I mean think about it, I have used torch's for 40 years without these and I've never had a problem and since I installed it , I still haven't had a problem, so....does it actually work???????The only reviewers that it does not work properly for will most likely be dead from the ensuing explosion. It could be pure snake oil, but what the heck, its only 50 bucks and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. The only thing I can prove is that they don't leak (soapy water test) and my torch worked fine after installing them.
