ADATA Ultimate SU630 480GB Solid State Drive, black

Bought and installed this 6 months ago and so far had zero issues. If you're still using a regular HDD, an SSD will make a huge difference.My desktop is quite old now and isn't very powerful however adding this SSD has made such a substantial difference, not only to boot speeds, but overall responsiveness in general. My main drive was previously a 7500RPM HDD, which is faster than most HDDs, and still this is a night and day difference. It now takes a matter of seconds to boot into Windows and once in, programmes and files open instantly. Previously this would take at least a couple minuets. As its solid state, its absolutely silent which also made quite a noticeable improvement in how much noise my PC produced.Can't go wrong for the price, probably the best price-performance upgrade you can do if you haven't already.

Although ADATA may not be as well known a brand to some people, these drives offer great value for money. I've used a large number of ADATA SSD's in various sizes and so far, had no issues at all. Speed improvements when upgrading from HDD to this drive are as you would suspect, amazing! It's fair to say that is also the case with most HDD to SSD upgrades.CompatibilityI have used these drives to upgrade HDD's in various Desktop PC's and Laptops, of various specifications and age and had no issues at all. As long as there are no limitations of your computer being able to use an SSD you should not have an issue. According to their website, ADATA offer, 'ADATA’s SSD Toolbox and Migration Utility' free of charge. I have not personally used this myself, but it's an added bonus if you're looking for a free migration and monitoring tool. I have migrated most of my HDD to SSD using a 3rd Party Tool and they have all been fine.Build QualityNothing much to report here. The build quality is no better or worse than other drives I have used from Seagate, Kingston and Gigbayte etc.SummaryIf you are looking for a decent SSD that provides fast performance, you can't really go wrong at this price.

Never heard of Adata, so of course was a bit skeptical. It was bought to replace the failing HDD in a family members laptop. Easy to install if you know what you're doing, reinstalled Windows on it and it is very quick. Definitely worth upgrading from a HDD to SSD, and this model hasn't let us down.

No instructions in packet or on adata website.I had to search online for quite a while to findout how to setup as a usb drive.

Easy to instal. Sata cable and power lead attached and recognised by windows. I did a clean instal of windows 10 from usb, then deleted my old os system disk and set the old drive as the default for all programs etc after I’d ensured the os on the new ssd was up to date. It has speed up the boot time to seconds. It was installed in an older computer that acts as a spare. I’ve had no problems but only just set it up. You can download Acronis true image oem if you register an account with Adata and register the drive. You enter the drive serial no. Into the section in the adata account and it gives you a activation code and you get an email to download the software - must admit I have no use for it. You can also download a ‘toolbox’ set of software to monitor the drive.All in all a very cheap solution (£23) to speed up a pc. 240Gb is big enough for windows os and still enough space should you want to put other stuff on it. Always best to have another drive where larger amounts of data can be stored.Pleased so far.

My Acer Desktop PC just passed it's 10th birthday according to the manufacturer stamp on the inner panel. This SSD replaced the original 640GB HDD which was doing well, but I needed something to make the machine more reactive. The SSD came very quickly, was well packaged and slotted right in after the data was transferred using EaseUS TODO Back up. Once I switched to the SSD as my primary drive, the desktop was up and running very quickly. Most noticable change is quicker boot time. I would say it has better than halfed it, but I have not done a 1:1 comparison. Programmes load faster, that is for sure and it seems more responsive, when running at full tilt.I dare say that there are faster drives out there and for sure, there are bigger ones, but for a budget ticket to this decade, this is hard to beat.

As per other reviews. This item just works and speeds up my old PC load and response times. Easy setup - just clone existing system drive and reload. This provided enough performance boost to keep my laptop going for at least a year (probably much longer). I have 3 of these SSDs. One in an old and sluggish Windows 7 laptop which now boots and shuts down much faster and is generally more responsive and I've noticed a slight increase in battery life. One in a Windows 7 desktop PC and the third in a new build Windows 10 desktop PC. The 2 Win 7 SSDs were cloned from the original HDDs. So far they have been reliable and I would buy this SSD again if the need arose. Highly recommended.
