The Laurie Berkner Songbook Piano, Vocal and Guitar Chords Book/Online Audio

These songs are modern day classics for kids. They are so singable and yet easy to play on the guitar, and they are liked by kids from all different backgrounds. I am so glad I discovered this book.

If you, like me, have heard your child say "Daddy, I want marching!" - or something similar, which translates roughly to "I want to hear 'We are the Dinosaurs' by the Laurie Berkner Band, *And* you're an aspiring musician on the piano, guitar, or other instrument.... My friend, this is the perfect book for you! It includes tons of great Laurie Berkner songs with the sheet music (regular notes, like for a piano), and guitar chords, as well as lyrics. There's also a CD included, but... my CD player has long since gone the way of the dinosaur, so I didn't check it out. If you have the ability to play a CD, I'm sure it's an even better value!Highly recommend if you meet that sweet spot on the Venn Diagram of having children, being interested in playing music, and enjoying Laurie Berkner. For our family, this was a must have!

If you want to play Laurie Berkner songs to your kids or get a book where they can learn them for piano or guitar, this is it! It's a VERY nice songbook that includes 25 of her easy-to-play favorites. I especially like that it includes strumming patterns for guitar. There are activities, too, but I don't really use those. I purchased this book so I could learn to play some Laurie Berkner songs for my 2 year old who is obsessed with Laurie. I love this book because the songs are pretty simple to learn and it also offers all the lyrics and even some fun activities. It seems to me that some of the sheet music is of the original rendition of the song so it's not exacly the same as the versions you hear on her CDs. That's the only thing that bothered me and it is only on a couple of songs. The CD that comes with the book is only instrumental. I remember some other reviewers posting that they were disappointed to discover this but it says it very clearly in the product description. Both of my girls love to pretend to play the songs themselves and are really excited that Mama can play this music too.

I am a music teacher-- and this year my teaching assignment expanded to the primary grades, after 10 years of teaching upper elementary ages! Laurie and her song book have been a savior and inspiration! She just gets it! My own children ages 2& 3 love it too when I practice and sing with them at home! This book is a necessity , she is the new and improved Raffi for the new age! But, Raffi is still a staple too!

Thanks to a pandemic, my storytimes are all virtual, but I've been using this songbook to make them a lot more fun.

I love Laurie Berkner, and I love having the chords and lyrics at my disposal! I only wish something similar were available for more of Laurie's songs

Laurie Berkner is one of my favorite kids singers. I am a elementary music teacher and have used 2 of her pieces in programs. I am very excited to get the sheet music for her songs so I can play the piano or guitar for the songs as well as using her CD's. Highly recommended!!!
