SapporoIchiban Chow Mein, 3.6-Ounce Packages (Pack of 24)

I love these noodles. They are my favorite "ramen" style packet food - but *NOT* ramen. I've been calling them "chow mein" for some time, but other reviewers are right, they are Japanese Yakisoba style noodles.They are cheaper here on Amazon than I can find them in stores, but more importantly, consistently available. Some local stores have them for $0.99-$1.25, but I have noticed they are incredibly difficult to find. They seem to be carried randomly. I'll find a store that carries them, buy a dozen, and next time I go back they no longer carry them.The noodles are a wonderfully sweet, rich, salty, tangy-ish flavor. Personally, I love them, but I know the flavor is NOT for everyone. Every time I cook them, my husband always says, "ooh, that smells good, can I have a bite?" and immediately makes his "gross face" when he tastes it. EVERY TIME. So its a love-or-hate kind of food. But me? I LOVE them. As a side note, they come with a small packet of green seaweed type stuff, but I hate the way it tastes (and even smells - ick!), so I always omit it.(And I'm a vegetarian, so these noodles are perfect for me.)Pros:- Quick to prepare- Flavorful- Cheap- Unique- VegetarianCons:- Sometimes inconsistent availability (outside Amazon)- Packet of green "stuff" (personal preference)- I wish they had a "1.5 packet" size. One packet is sometimes not enough, two is too much.

Good flavor great in Yakisoba!

I used to eat this alot growing up, but it was some UFO brand.I skeptical about the 2 minute cook time, but the consistency has been fantastic. I cook this along with regular ramen for the kids and the yakisoba cooks faster.This was the cheapest I could find per volume, the name brand reputation, and I didn't have to brave HMart to get this specific flavor item.

I will forever continue to purchase this ramen. I had a friend show me this ramen about 6 to 7 years ago and to this day it is still my absolute favorite! Now my son is just as obsessed, in fact he refuses to eat any other kind of ramen. I wish it was easier to find in stores around me but I love that I can find it here on Amazon. If you’re thinking about trying it, just do it!

I’ve purchased this three times now and am so happy to have this on hand. The product is advertised that it’s chow mein (Chinese term) but I’m telling you...it’s 100 percent Japanese yakisoba. It’s super easy to make like instant ramen noodles. Like most Asians, who can turn something simple into a full meal, I use this as a base and just add a protein item, onions, shredded carrots and cabbage. BAM! Just like that, you’re getting the restaurant quality/taste of pure deliciousness for a fraction of the cost! The taste is spot on to an Okinawa style yakisoba and for adult portion, I would recommend using two packs. This is my “go to” for a last minute dinner and is also perfect for a late night meal after a night out on the town to reduce the chance of any hangovers! Highly recommend this product.

You will not be disappointed, better than the marginal stuff at the shopping centers. It fills a 6'3" 200 lb. guy up. I add Julien sun-dried tomatoes, green olives and hot sauce to taste. I can recommend this product. My son says to use chop sticks.

A couple of explanations as to why this product is equal, and probably better than all other fast. just add hot water quick noodle products, even though other quick noodle products sell for around $1.00 per package, and this product sell for $1.50 per pack. First, each package is larger than cup of noodle packs, (this product is 3.6 oz while competitive products average about 2 oz per pak. ) But more important than any other factor over competitive products, is the simple fact in my opinion, is the quality and favorable taste found only in this product. Very fast to prepare, just boil dry noodle pack on each side for one minute, add the small contents provided in the package of herbs, mix in any desired flavor enhancers like oriental stir fry vegetables, chopped ham or chicken, etc and there you have it. An excellent sit down for one very hungry person or two medium hungry people. The order came with 24 packs, and when all consumed, I''m certainly going to reorder. The whole family like this excellent product Sapporo Ichiban Chow Mein !!!!

Took less than 5 minutes to make and tastes great! Will definately be buying more from amazon. The texture of the noodles are nice and the sauce is really tasty. There is no soup though. these ones you have to cook until the water is absorbed and then you can the powder. Its like a chow mein.

Nothing like your normal 'ramen'. So much more savoury and hearty. Perfect for grilled meats or vegetables.

Had these in America not so long ago, and they were really tasty, especially with the seaweed sprinkled over the top. A good price on Amazon too.
