Norpro 5151 Watermelon Slicer, Silver

I knew there were specific ways to cut a watermelon that were a lot better than the traditional method. I did some research online and found a bunch of different solutions. When I saw a video showing how this tool worked, I knew I had to order one. It works great!! By the third time that I attempted to use the tool properly, I had learned how to use it. I find it so....much easier, not as messy and a much quicker method to cut up a watermelon. You have the option of leaving the slices the same size as the width of the watermelon or having them cut in bite size pieces. I'm hooked and will never use a simple knife to cut up a watermelon again.

If you’re like me, you find cutting watermelon to be a messy, tedious task. I hated cutting watermelon so much that would buy the overly expensive precut, soggy, packaged versions in the store. Of course the quality was never the same as your own freshly cut watermelon. So I decided to do some digging, trying to find a device that would make the task easier and less messy.. I actually bought three device to try. The other two don’t matter, because this is the Grand Poobah! No more cutting, slicing, cleaning up, etc. With this device, I cut the watermelon in half, then use this device to cut and scoop out a huge, neatly sliced chunk of melon. It’s ridiculously easy and effective. Just watch the video! I buy them as gifts, and people rave about this slicer. This is the only way to get it done, folks.

Bought for my husband to use. He is the one that usually cuts up all the watermelon. I liked the design and look of it but he didn't find it very easy to use. He preferred just using a knife.

Broke immediately. Wire is hardly secured and snapped upon first try.

Worked - kinda. I misunderstood what I was getting from the pic. I thought this was a single blade curved knife. It’s a double that cuts a channel. Makes pieces that are a consistent width. Leaves a ton behind without a good way to get the rest. So, it gets the job done, but it wastes so much that I can’t really recommend it.

These watermelon cutter work great. The last one had the wire break, but had given me several years of service.

I love my watermelon slicer. It’s so easy to use. It slicers/glides through the watermelon with such ease. It’s easy to clean and dishwasher safe, but I choose to wash mine by hand. I eat a lot of watermelon because it helps me to pass my chronic kidney stones. So, finding this product has literally cut my slicing and dicing, yes dicing, time in half. That’s amazing to me. You can even keep the slices in the watermelon or use the gripper to remove your cut slices. Or just dice it all up and serve from the melon bowl. I’m amazed at how wonderful this little tool is and how it can perform.
