Great for paperback books
These are cute and sturdy enough for paperback books. I wouldn't really use them for hardcover books because I don't think they are heavy enough.

Cute but not super heavy
Cute bookends. I have them holding several paperbacks but I think if you have heavier books they may not be heavy enough to hold.

Cute, but won't hold up your books
These are cute book ends, however very lightweight. Because of this they won't hold up the books in my bookcase.I actually can't think of any books they would truly properly hold up, as I reorganized my bookcase multiple times and tried to make them work with all sorts of configurations. That being said, I ended up putting one at the end of a few books that can hold themselves up, and putting the other on top of a stack of coffee table-type books.

not very good quality
They were smaller than anticipated and didn't stand up very well. I had to add and move the pads under the cat and file down a bump at the bottom to get it to stand up right. It still isn't very sturdy but as long as nothing touches it, it should be fine.

Cute but not for bookends!
These cats are as cute as they look in the pictures. And they were delivered on time and all.However, they are not heavy enough to be used as proper bookends.Also, one of them, the one licking its paw, does not stand on its own, keeps falling over.I'm returning.

Pretty, Not very functional
Would not recommend buying these. More suitable for decoration than for use as bookends. They would probably be fine for propping up two or three books in a decorative spot. Personally I have many heavy books and these little kitties can't keep them upright. I will probably keep them as nicknacks but mostly because I love black cats.

Update (6/7/16):Received second pair, earlier. Again, (Cats cd/book holder set) arrived on time, magnificently wrapped, in pristine condition, and look adorable.10 Stars!---Today, item came exquisitely wrapped, in perfect condition. The cat set is as beautiful as it are well crafted. Now, use them as 'bookends' for CD collection, on shelf of Ashley Contemporary Chair Side End Table.A wonderful addition...-:)
