AIYA SINCE 1888 Matcha Sifter Can (Black)

This works great. It was a bit tedious to push all the matcha through the teeny holes of the screen, but the end result is very worth it. The little spatula fits inside the sifting area, as well, so it can all be stored in one place - sifted matcha in the bottom, sifter screen settled in the top third of the tin, and little spatula inside the sifter, with the lid fitting perfectly on top. I'm very much a fan of this little tin. It was a bit larger than I expected, but the added surface area for the screen was much appreciated!

It functions, and it's aesthetically pleasing, but it is not well designed. First impression: for the price, I would have expected a more substantial sheet metal; think 1970's soda can. The major flaw are the seams. Where the screen meets the metal, for the entire circumference, there is a small depression in which a bit of your tea will sit forever: it has been so far impossible to clean. The same holds true for the bottom of the container. It does strain tea, and it does look nice, but I would explore other options.

Love it! Bigger than I expected also.

I wouldn't reccomend it much for matcha... It's bigger than I needed it to be for that, easily holds about 4 or more oz & by the time you use that much it's clumping back up again. Moreover the strainer starts rusting after only one or two rinses.But it is a perfect size for a modest amount of loose tea leaves.
