The silicone mat is used to keep the bottoms of the cookies and bread from getting overdone while the top is still baking.It is an item with which we use every time. It is an item which we use every time my wife is cooking. The cooking of the item is always even throughout and there is no necessity to put a pan underneath the cookie sheet that you are using to try and keep the temperature from burning the bottom. Great invention and inexpensive price.

It's an okay mat. Fits in spot I use. Adheres well to counter top. Wipes clean. Useful. Bought because my Pampered Chef mat got damaged. Dork me used sharp knife without thinking. Sad

I had baking mats before and needed a new one as having misplaced previous ones, this mat works for me because I have a very small kitchen and limited counter space, and now I can roll out dough for pizza and pies, wipes clean and easy to wash.

Nice mat for rolling pastry. Adheres well and does not slide.CANNOT be used for shaping sourdough. The topside of the mat is not completely smooth and slick so the sourdough sticks and becomes a mess.
