Stellaris Console Edition (PS4)

This isn't the most exciting game, there's not a great deal of action, however from a strategic point of view you can spend a lot of time working out how best to utilize your resources. There's plenty of depth that can be explored, especially by changing the difficulty levels which brings some aspects more into play. Replayability is definitely good since there are a number of factors that can give a different experience. For example the race you pick to play, since each has it's positive and negative aspects that determine how certain elements of the game affect gameplay.The only thing I found a little 'unusual' was fleet battles. Basically, if your fleet has a higher value than the fleet you're fighting, it seems you win. But the odd thing is that although one side may have obliterated the opposition, the winning fleet is completely intact. This means you can't send in a weaker fleet to wear down the the other while your support fleet is some distance away, since when you lose the winning fleet is still as strong as ever. This may not be the case in all the harder difficulty levels but I've not gone there yet.

Probably the most accessible of Paradox's 4x strategy games comes to consoles and it really works, build starbases and fleets of spaceships and stake your claim for territory in the early stages, then wage war or turtle up to bid for economic domination and deal with various crises across centuries.Graphically it's adequate rather than stunning but graphics aren't really the point, it's a proper strategy game on a console, and it's good.If Paradox could make Crusader Kings and the old Combat Mission games work on a PS4 or 5 and SI could do the same with Football Manager, I'd probably give up on PC gaming altogether.

Good game similar to the classic masters of orion.
