Duraflo 6001G Weatherpro Turbo Retro Fit Cap

If you're like me, you research & read many reviews before you buy anything. Our old roof turbine was very loud & squeaky, which was audible inside our home as well (not good on those nights when you're having a hard time falling asleep as it is). I began looking for replacements. After a couple days of research, I came across this Duraflo cap. I liked the comparable price, but this brand didn't have many reviews, so I was somewhat hesitant. I showed it to my husband & he was on board (he's the one climbing on the roof to replace it), so we ordered it. We have Prime, so we received the cap in a couple days. I think it took my husband longer to get the ladder out & put it away than the actual installation (slight exaggeration there, but not by much). According to him, installation was a breeze (he did it in the dark with a headlamp after work). This cap has been on our home for a few weeks now & we have not had any issues with it. We had a severe thunderstorm, with 60+ mph winds, the other night & it held up beautifully (no leakage from the rain either). I'm very pleased with this product & best of all, no more noisy turbine! My mom has the same problem with her turbine that we had with ours, so we will be ordering another one for her house.

Had to take down the metal rotating vent due to Hurricane IRMA when we were listed for a Cat 5 direct hit. Decided the metal ones had been up and were having issue. Did the research and found these. I had the 12 inch base and yes, these fit perfectly. You can push these on much further than the metals ones.Originally, I thought it was white, but the "G" means light grey. This actually matches my roof tiles better! Lucky me.To install, I used the old base of the metal rotating vent as a template to drill the holes. This made installation easier. Got it installed in under 1 hour and a true handy man could do this in under 15 minutes, so yes, installation is pretty easy.

Purchased the grey Duraflo to replace to turbine that decided to depart my roof during a recent storm. This vent cap has already weathered several storms and is holding up great. No water in the attic during a "sideways rain" storm. Installation was very easy. I utilized 1.5" self-tapping roofing screws.

Product arrived broken; almost all the way around. Nearly was in 2 pieces. Product is a flimsy piece of junk. Zero stars. Even if it came in one piece I have no confidence this would have held up more than a few weeks. Not worth wasting your time.

Took me about 10 minutes to install which included climbing up on the roof!! This was a great purchase! Looks more modern than a turbine. Keeps out lizard and other critters that could get through the turbine SlotS. Couldn’t be happier!

Replaced a squeaky turbine. Easy installation with a level and self tapping screws. Construction looks to be of good quality.
