A stupendously splendid swashbuckling escapade of derring-do!
Between the beautifully illustrated covers of The Danger Gang and the Pirates of Borneo!, the reader is sure to discover a treasure chest overflowing with heart, humor, and heroics, the likes of which will leave them thirsting for the The Danger Gang's next adventure in some far-flung land! Headed up by the well-intentioned, albeit overzealous, 11-year-old Ronald Zupan, The Danger Gang sets off on a perilous journey by land, air, and sea in hopes of rescuing Ronald's parents from the dastardly modern-day pirate, Zeetan Z.Bramucci's prose flows as swift as the mighty Kapuas River and his plot structuring is filled with just as many twists and turns. With his sharp, witty dialogue (which I'd liken to fencing with words) and vivid scene description, Bramucci brings this charming story, and all its unique three-dimensional characters, fully to life in the readers mind. You may even find yourself enchanted with the old, cranky, defanged, king cobra, Carter, who proves just as essential to the story as every other warmblooded mammal living within the pages...including the bats. This is a wonderful tale for young and old alike, and I highly recommend it!

A grand adventure with the Danger Gang!
I had the pleasure of hearing the opening of this book read by the author years before publication and it stuck with me as a must-read, must-own. Real enough to be believable, mostly, with plenty exaggeration to make a truly grand adventure, this really is a delightful read. Fact: this is an awesome book!

Indiana Jones meets The Goonies
I wish this book was around when I was a kid. The Danger Gang is so full of adventure, humor, and memorable characters that it will keep even the most reluctant reader glued to the pages. In particular, I loved the dual narrative structure of boy-adventurer Ronald Zupan's exaggerated recounting of events in contrast with his butler Jeeves' slightly drier (and more accurate) remembrances. This structure (along with the humor and swashbuckling action) reminded me a lot of The Princess Bride by William Goldman.I'm excited to read more of Ronald Zupan's adventures! And I know this is a cliche thing to say, but I think this would make a great movie.

Great read-aloud!
The Danger Gang is so much fun! The action moves along at a nice pace and there's enough word play and humor to keep adults and older kids interested in addition to the storyline that the younger ones love. Bramucci does a fantastic job with balancing Ronald's inflated self-image and the friends that keep him grounded. In the end, Ronald realizes that true friendship is the most important thing. We loved Julianne Sato as well. So awesome to see a girl in a lead role. This is a great read-aloud for the whole family. Be prepared for lots of begging to read one more chapter!

Dangerously Fun!
My ten-year-old son used to be a reluctant reader until he started reading The Danger Gang and The Pirates of Borneo. Last night, I actually had to ask him to stop reading because it was way past his bedtime. His response, "Just one more chapter?" Be still my heart! Although, I can't blame him. This book is fast-paced and funny! If your reader craves adventure with a daring twist and a dashing young hero, this is the book to buy!

Wonderful book!
The Danger Gang is an incredible book for young, adventurous readers! Each chapter is filled with humor, cleverly written characters, and important morals such as the values of perseverance, co-captaining, and never leaving a friend behind. Almost every page has a captivating illustration, which engages children's and tweens' minds with a fun interface. This book lured our 10-year-old away from his iPad for days, because he was so engrossed and determined to get to the ending. We can't wait for the sequel!

Excellent writing and a story that is entertaining for kids and adults alike. We read this book aloud for the whole family and we ALL thoroughly enjoyed it. The word play and humour is masterfully conceived with a tone that is witty and fresh and enriches the characters and story. A wonderful adventure leaving us all hoping to join in future expeditions of the Zupan family.
