Fascinating Essays
My headline really sums it up. There are essays about being proud of being Jewish. The breadth and depth of the essays make it really good. Some are short, some are a couple of pages. Great reading.

Everyone of every religion should read this
Being Jewish has so many interpretations. I get so sick of people stereotyping religions, especially Judiasm. I used to be afraid to tell people I was Jewish, especially after my friend Danny Pearl was murdered for being a Jew, and proudly admitting it before his death. Reading this book has made me proud to be Jewish at my own level. Sometimes it takes people well known in the public to make you feel comfortable with who you are. Just understanding how many jewish people feel about their faith, whether deep or just on the surface, proves that in the same religion there are as many GODS as there are people praying. It is refreshin to know how a group of jewish people share their iedals. Excellent and facinating reading!

An excellent choice as a bar or bat or confirmation gift
Well written tribute to Daniel Pearl at the time it was published and still is. I wish more Jewish leaders in medicine, science, technology, but it is still an important book to read that illustrates the depth and breath of the contribution of Jews that benefit the world community. An excellent choice as abar or bat or confirmation gift.

Forever Bookshelf Book
This is a book to have forever. It's interesting and entertaining to read how different Jews identify as Jews. I've loaned it to many who are reintroducing themselves to Judaism. There's inspiration at any level of observation from secular to orthodox.

Recommended reading
I highly recommend this book. It spoke to me on many different levels: philosophically, religiously, humanly, and humanely, and caused me truly to consider why I am a Jew. I think that Jews and non Jews alike should read this book with an open mind and in those search of new insights

Buy for yourself or as a gift.
This book is well written, easy to read, and dedicated in memory of a very special and memorable person. I own this book personally and have bought it as a gift for numerous people. In particular, I have chosen to buy this book as a bat mitzvah gift many times. This book is great for any kind of Jew: spiritual, cultural, religious, conservative, reform, or orthodox. I highly recommend this purchase.
