UPDATED 11-10-20. A fellow customer said his board arrived "with an oil like substance inside and leaking out of the wrapped board." That is DEFINITELY not normal--return it for another.I bought one of these at Bad Breath and Beyond a couple years ago. I like it so much I went back for another--no luck. This is exactly the same as the one I bought. When I make a stir fry, I chop LOTS of veggies and I like PLENTY of elbow room. Now I prepare the "really need to be cooked" veggies on one board, and the "pop in at the last minute" veggies on another. I slide them from the board right into the stir fry pan. Awesome! It's light for its size and plenty strong. Avoid the thick ones--too heavy. I LIKE the fact that it does not have one of those weird groves around the edges. My first one has never developed any crack or separation after probably 5 years. I DO put butcher block oil-wax on it from time to time. Do not use the excuse that you don't have space. FIND space for one or two of these treasures. Okay, they are not as gorgeous (or pricey) as walnut cutting boards, but they are 100% satisfactory for what they are intended for.

Excellent boards. Perfect size, value. Note, be sure to get some cutting board oil, and even the wax, and oil per instructions. Most boards need this. If you don't it will warp, crack, and possibly get moldy if left with water on the underside. Complaints on this board indicate that these basic requirements were not done.

I coated it with food grade mineral oil to protect it and enrich the hardwood color.

This cutting board is great, but does need to be cared for. Oil it regularly and keep it dry. It is not as thick as some, and tends to curl a bit. However, for the money I think it is amazing; I don’t see the need to spend 5-10x as much for a Boos or similar, when this has held up great for 3+ years now. I use it daily for cooking and bread making; it never leaves its spot on the counter.

I'm VERY satisfied with this board and will never use those small boards ever again (having to bench scrape every few cuts)! I've been using this for 3 months and no complaints.This holds EASILY on granite or any hard surface without a millimeter of slipping by using an anti-slip silicone roll (such as Tenura) underneath. Seriously, not even a millimeter of slip with a silicone roll and since it's not adhesive, you can just pick it right up like magic! This avoids slight movement caused by the (also oiled) underneath and makes the experience with this board a dream!I clean and wax it regularly to maintain anti-microbial properties and that's it! I also recommend a 3/4" restaurant grade board rack to hold vertically after you clean/wax unless you have a tremendous sized dish rack to hold it.

It's worked out fine for us. Didn't want a super thick hunk of wood. Oiled it immediately front and back. It started to warp but oiled again that used the other side for awhile. Now it is flat. Happy with this purchase

Cutting board was nice maple, heavy and just as advertised.

I purchased this to make use of the sink space in my small island when baking and it works perfectly! Now I don't have to worry about things accidentally being bumped into the sink or constantly having to go from one side of the sink to the other. Beautiful cutting board too!

I've had this cutting board now for close to a year and It has proven to be exactly what I needed. I pretty much use it as an extension of my counter space. I say its a good deal if you know how to take care of it.Some people have reported that the board warps and bows pretty often, and that is true - HOWEVER - this only applies to the board when it has not been treated with the needed oils. The board bows or bends when it is new because it begins to pull moisture out from the environment, all you have to do prevent that is simply to flip it on its other side to balance it out. This is only a problem when you have not bothered to apply the necessary mineral oil - ALL wood that will be used for food preparation needs to be treated in order to prevent staining and warping.I applied 3 rubs of mineral oil and let it absorb that, now it does not stain or bow/warp at all. I would also not suggest washing this board under running water - instead use a soapy sponge or damp towel to clean it up. All this board needs is proper care.

perfect for what we need for.

I have a tiny kitchen with almost no counter space - I purchased this board to completely cover my large sink when I am baking or chopping a lot. It works great. I have other cutting boards I use on top of it for cutting things like onions, meat, etc. For me the board is used for mostly a continuation of surface. If you have a lot of counter space it would be an awesome cutting board as it wouldn't slide around.

Seems great out of the box, but not exactly like the picture. The nice beveled edges in the ad aren’t there, just sharp 90 degree cuts. And my board had a slight error in stain/treatment that can be seen in the photos (odd line down the edge). Also, my board included a knot remnant in the center of the board, which will likely decrease the longevity.A nice cutting board in general, but if the company exercised a little more care and attention during production, this board could be great.

I make breads from scratch. This is my baking board. I love it! It is perfect for this application. I do not cut on it. I have something else for cutting.
