Great book for teaching kids about gardening
This book is great. It has great explanations and hands on activities to make gardening fun for kids. DK makes great books and this is another. I got it so we could do a gardening study in our homeschool and this has been perfect. The activities are engaging but not overly complicated or time consuming. It also encourages recycling containers for planters which is a great lesson in being eco-friendly and using what you have on hand.

Nice looking
I scoured Amazon for kids gardening books, and kept coming back to this one. For those (like me) who do not know what "Flexibound" is--it resembles a miniature coffee-table book. I like that it breaks down garden items into individual instructions: "How to grow beets," "How to grow radishes." Maybe one of these days I'll even get around to doing one of the ideas.

Young Gardening Book
This is so good that I was glad I'd sent off for it early as it gave me a chance to read it and get some excellent ideas for activities with my grandchildren before I gave it to them! Lots of very interesting and engaging projects on each page. The photos are vibrant and clear and the information is set out in concise chunks making it a pleasure to read. It doesn't just concentrate on growing flowers, fruit and vegetables but gives recommendations for plants that encourage wildlife, recycling tips, making feeders and habitats for different creatures, etc. Very good!

Fantastic for budding gardeners.
A fantastic book for budding young gardeners. Filled with bright colourful photographs to complement the clear instructions for growing popular fruit and vegetables. There are loads of child friendly ideas for recycling household waste into quirky pots and wildlife friendly habitats. I know my little flower will love reading this book and trying all the little projects when she's older - probably good from age 4 upwards. A must for young gardeners eager to learn trusted techniques for growing their own food for a lifetime and treating the wondrous nature in their gardens with love and respect. I'd highly recommend this book.

for beginners
This book is aimed at children but as a beginner I found it very useful it explained tasks very clearly. covering planting seeds transplanting and various types of fungal and creature attack. Anybody thinking of growing some of their own vegetables then they could be helped by the advice in this book.

Learnt so many things. And great ideas for using household recyclable goods to grow
This book is so good. Highly recommend, even if you dont have kids. So many great ideas and tips to also recycle things ie using discarded egg shells & an egg box carton as recycled seed trays. Lots of good ideas to also make small indoor or balcony gardens.
