Handy piece of kit
Really handy for keeping scores . Normally use score sheets (paper) but when it's raining gets soaked and useless to right on , only need paper score sheets for green, yellow red cards

Really simple but so useful
This wonderful little device has given my brain some much needed support! I have started coaching/umpiring for my son's under 9s cricket team which is loads of fun but also quite a responsibility. One of the great things about the game at this level is that each batting pair faces 4 overs, if you get out it's a reduction in runs rather than being sent to the sidelines (wish it was that way when I was a kid!) and each batter faces 3 balls per over. This requires the umpire to be paying attention as to how many balls each batter has faced. On the advice of other coaches I had been using coins to keep tabs but they can be a bit fiddly. This device is actually designed for football scores and I can imagine does an excellent job on that front too.Quite simply this device allows me to allocate the batters one on the left and one on the right and click the buttons to keep track of the number of balls faced. There's a central slider which I can use to indicate which one is on strike. It comes with a small metal ring at the top which has made it really easy to hook on a lanyard (I have loads of them from previous work conferences!).Really simple but such an effective gadget. It comes with a set of stickers with various national flags on it which I won't be using but might be useful I guess.

Cheap and cheerful!
I suppose you should not expect much as this referee scorer or counter only costs £1.99 (at time of review). It arrives in a small Ziploc-type bag with a small sheet of flag stickers. It has no lanyard but does have a small (and flimsy) keyring at the top, where you could also attach your own lanyard. It is lightweight but looks relatively robust if a little cheaply made. However, my main issue with this item is in its use. You have to apply a lot of pressure (and the correct technique) to change the score or the team colours, and as for the 'kick off' then I thought that was never going to change position. I did eventually get it to do so but it is very stiff. I cannot see this working in a practical sense for a referee -- unless it eases up with continued use. I am going to give it to a young child to use for fun when they are having a kick around as it is in my opinion not fit for purpose (in a serious game of football).

May be useful for table football players
I can see what the manufacturer is intending here, but they've not really done that good a job. The item is very plasticky and although it works as it should, it's not really fit for purpose - not for an active referee anyway. The digits (0-9) are too small to read at a glance, the colours at the bottom which showing which team is which are almost impossible to see - the wheel is buried too far inside the device. The arrow showing which team is to kick off each half is possibly the most useful feature for a referee, but if that's all it's being used for, it's just a waste of plastic and it's not necessary for it to be carried around the pitch for a whole game.Maybe with a redesign this may be useful, but as it is I can't really recommend it unless you're refereeing a game of Subbuteo or something similar! On the vaguely positive side, it comes with a sheet of (tiny) stickers of national flags which may be useful for young children learning about countries, I suppose.

Time will tell.
I referee community rugby union in the regional divisional leagues ... at least I do when we aren't being prevented from playing by a pandemic!I got this to use as an aid for keeping track of penalties conceded by each team, rather than keeping track of goals scored, as it is intended. I haven't been able to try it out on the pitch yet, due to current circumstances, but it looks as though it could potentially do a decent job for very little cost.I haven't decided how I will most conveniently carry / wear it while I am refereeing yet. It would have been better if there had been an addition bar at the bottom of this (like the one there is at the top in the pics), so that a watch strap could be fitted to it.Time will tell and I will have a better idea of its usefulness and practicality when I am able to get back into match action properly.I hope you find these insights helpful.

Nice idea, but not the best quality implementation
I am a qualified referee and, especially when I'm officiating in the fast and furious world of 5 and 6 a-side football, can recognise the value in a device such as this.I fully intend to try it out when lockdown restrictions are further relaxed and my matches start up again.I have to agree with some of the other criticism though, namely that the numbers are far too small and the clicking mechanism doesn't feel particularly positive. It is though a very inexpensive device and, if it makes the man in black's life just a tiny bit easier, then it's money well spent. Will report back after I've used it in earnest.

Quite terribly made with terrible material and the turning pins...
If I'm completely honest a lot of issues with this product and The thing is one of these problems is the fact of the plastic it's a terrible plastic material is atrocious I would have hoped for it to be better but it wasn't and also in changing the figures you can only change it one way you can't even do it the opposite way which is quite sad and upsetting and it's just not come about to be that useful because obviously it's difficult to actually turn the actual pins to change the numbers and so on and so forth I just think that it shouldn't be this pricey as well I mean it's not that expensive but it's not worth the price you should get this out of pound store (or dollar store if you prefer). I just haven't had any use proper use for it even though I've taken it to games and stuff sometimes it's just difficult to actually click the button and games obviously when you're playing football it becomes quite intense and fast paced so some people don't have time to just click but even if you did have a little time it would help this was actually made better but you know what can't really say much else about it the only good thing is is pocket sized and easy to portably move around but I guess is for all of these types of items. I'm not so impressed so I wouldn't personally recommend it.

Cheap plastic toy, teeny tiny numbers in it!
The media could not be loaded. This is the sort of thing you'd find in a Christmas cracker! It's rattly and plasticky, and the numbers are so small you'd be hard pressed to see them during a game while you're running about keeping your eye on proceedings! It has two wheels, one for each score (from 0 to 9), a toggle switch thing to denote Home or Away at "KO" as is kick off, and two wheels you can select from ten coloured dots to remind you who is who.Thankfully this thing is only £2.49 at the time of this review, and in my opinion it's not worth more than that. I honestly think most will chuck it and use a wrist pad and pencil!I think my weeuns are pinching this to keep "score" of who beats who in video games, so at least it'll be getting some use.I hope this has been of help.

Pretty much a waste of plastic!
Very cheap, feels cheap, awkward to use and generally not good. But it might be okay for kids matches or for one-off events.Comes with tiny flag stickers which I'm not sure whats the point of them.

Handy fallback solution
As a fallback, this is acceptable, but no professional or even casual referee would want to rely on this. It's cheaply and poorly made and quite unreliable. Nor can accidental clicks be corrected.

A bit of fun for kids that will soon end up in the drawer
This is a cheap and cheerful stocking filler that could be a bit of fun for kids, but it is certainly not a professional device by any stretch of the imagination. The best thing about it is the price – around two pounds fifty – but it is fiddly to use and difficult to read. For any real sports scoring a pad and pencil would be much better all round – this is a bit of fun for a young football fan but won't get used very much, but the flag stickers are nice!
