Thanks for asking. 8Greens contains a small amount of the natural sweetener stevia. Our primary goal with 8Greens is to provide people with an easy and delicious way to increase their consumption of these most important greens. Unfortunately, the raw green components of 8Greens have a very strong taste on their own. We were determined not to use sugar; for us, stevia was the best option as it is the only non-sugar sweetener that is a plant and not a chemical that we have found to be effective. This is what I read about the process for 8greens: The greens are taken from the farm, dehydrated, and put into 8Greens. Does not say freeze dried.
