I knew what I was getting when I purchased these for so cheap. They are not a very thick flap and they wear down fast. For the price and for small jobs they are great. If you are looking for a professional tool look elsewhere. Basically they very cheap but work for small jobs that don't require extended usage.

I've always used a wire wheel to clean up my welds. I still use the wire wheel, sometimes, but for the most part one of my grinders is dedicated to flap disc use (another grinder has a thin cutting wheel on it, and the other usually has a thicker grinding disc on it).The flap discs definitely don't last and last, but man do they work nicely. No grabbing the work and making the grinder jump in your hand. They take off metal reasonably quickly but at an easily controllable rate. Perfect for cleanup.In case you're an idiot like me - don't use the flap disc on just-welded metal. It's really hot and will probably wear the disc much more rapidly. Go clean up the previous weld first, then this one.

These are doing the job! I have bought different discs to strip multiple coats of paint from a building with wooden car siding. These have been the best, cost effective, efficient discs I have tried so far. I can strip at least 15 sqft before the disc shows any wear. I need to swap out around 50 sqft of use. I am taking the siding down to bear wood to stop fresh paint from peeling so fast.

Discs are ok. Grit is labeled on one disk per grit size and with a pricing sticker like in a grocery store. It doesn’t stick well.
