Great stable Z490 board paired with a 10700k and awesome styling!
So far this board has been great with my 10700k. Initial boot was flawless. One thing everyone should change immediately in the bios is to turn off MCE or multi core enhancement which is on by default on most if not all motherboards, and can push your voltage and thermals to unsafe levels. The bios is super clean and one of the best in class. If you have seen what gamers nexus has reported, Asus is the only board manufacturer that follows intels voltage guidelines when using all but mce settings on auto. This will give you peace of mind in knowing your stock settings aren't pushing things above what's safe. I had no problems with this board overclocking to 5.0ghz all cores. The board looks awesome and has some cool RGB elements. The only thing I would want more of is usb ports. But what you are getting by sacraficing some i/o is vrms that are the same as the mid to high end asus boards.

Solid motherboard for the money
So i bought this board from Amazon warehouse for $146 + tax (nice discount) and it was described as like new. I wondered why it was so steeply discounted and when i got the item i saw why. The box was crushed but had never been opened (whoever returned it probably freaked out when they saw the box) so I figured at worst I’ll just return it if it’s broken. Turned out the only damage was the speaker pins were bent which took me 2 minutes to straighten out and fix. Other than that the board was brand new and never used and all the items were included so i consider it a big win.As with any Asus gaming board, this one has all the overclocking perks and does not disappoint. The only thing missing is wifi/bt but it has a dedicated slot on the board to add a wifi module if i choose to later on. Right now i use a wired connection to it and have no need for wifi.I’m using it with a 10600k cpu and asus Strix 3080 gpu (yes i got lucky). The cpu overclocked to 5.1 ghz stable but it runs a bit hot during full load testing at 1.4v so i backed it down to 5.0 ghz with lower voltage and its solid as a rock. I used 2 x 8 gb tforce dims that have Hynix CRJ chips and pushed those from 3600 mhz to 3800 mhz using xmp II timings effortlessly. Finally i have ring bus at 45x though i can probably push it to 48x if I tried. I tested this in Warzone and the performance was nearly indistinguishable from my other pc that has an AMD 5950x and Radeon 6900 xt.Biggest con is the lack of led debug, i don’t know why manufacturers insist on keeping it on premium $300+ boards when it costs just to nothing to add and is invaluable during testing if something goes wrong. As an alternative, I purchased an internal speaker off Amazon and connected it to the board to use for debugging. The lack of wifi is something some people would miss but not me so that’s personal preference.Obviously this isn’t a hardcore enthusiast board but i did get close to max performance out of this i5-10600k so I’m happy. I’ll probably tune the ram a bit more in the future to see what else I can get out of it.Overall, a very solid motherboard, 8/10.

Great Board. Initially stuck in BIOS
Posted fine after build but wouldn't continue boot to Windows. Played around in BOOT Section and Enabled;Launch CSMBoot Device and Legacy OPROMWorked fine. Don't know why this was necessary as previous boards booted to drive in first SATA connection by default.Whatever we're good now.

It lives up to my long standing use of the ASUS product line.
I have mine paired with the Intel Core i7 10700 and it works perfectly. For a few days I used the Intel-provided CPU cooler and it worked well, but I wanted a water-cooled system. The latter has nothing to do with the function of the motherboard, aside from there being headers for the water-cooler.

Windows 11 Requirements
My new system is 3 months old now and is a superb Windows 10 system, fast and slick. Now that Windows 11 has been announced, I figured I should check my system, and it fails by not having a TPM available. Check by WIN-R, then run tpm.msc. There is nothing in the documentation about TPM that I could find and nothing online. Finally, I found posted on a forum for another motherboard the answer:Go to the UEFI BIOS and select ADVANCED. Then select PCH-FW. There, enable PTT.Voila! It passes the check. Now nothing whatever in that sequence or the manual even mentions "TPM". For the poor documentation, I took off a star from what otherwise would be a 5 star rating.
