Review: Jim Flick book rating - First class 👌. In a world of noise and information overload on the internet, a great read Review: Marvellous book, as long as you forget the "Internet Tips " !! - This book is a godsend to golfers who suffer "paralysis by analysis " . Despite quite a debilitating right ankle triple fusion, Jim Flick's approach for handicap players has enabled me to play to a reasonable standard again with excellent drills and fitness tips. I refer to it most days, and practice short game skills which are required to play competitively . I cannot recommend it highly enough , and from being on the point of giving the game up, I have renewed enthusiasm .

excellent
I enjoed very much reading the book, it's very useful, I like the approch that Mr Flick give to golf, the feeling of the game over mechanics, the feeling of the club head, the grip pressure, I always think of his advice for the grip, the posture, I recommend the book to everybody who loves golf

Jim Flick teaches the golf game as it should be. He dispels the lessons on the internet and elsewhere that subscribe to the notion that we should model our swings like tour pros. He addresses the golf swing for us mortals and suggest that we should not be trying to get in "positions" like the elite golfers. His lessons are clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend.

Excellent book for novice or occasional golfer with some knowledge of golf swing and golf mechanics who would like to become a solid weekend 'bogey' golfer. Flick makes the argument that the modern one piece golf swing is not repeatable for the occasional golfer and argues for the old fashioned pendulum golf swing which is the antithesis of the "grip it and rip it " approach or the very mechanical Hogan 5 Lessons philosophy.. The Hogan book was my bible for 40 plus years but i had my summers free to experiment with getting the hip' rotation' right and would have had more fun[and progress] and enjoyment using the Flick book, for guidance.! You may not hit it long with this swing but you will be more consistent

As someone only just starting out in the game, I found Jim Flick's book to be full of the kind of practical tips that you don't find in your typical golf magazine. Written in an easy-to-read engaging style, the book will be helpful to both the beginning and advanced golfer. Instructions are easy to understand. My only criticisim is that at the start of the book, he goes on a bit about "feel" and it gets a bit repetitive. Other than that, it'll be one of the best books you can buy on the subject of golf.

I read this book probably 15-20 years ago. It’s still the best golf book I’ve read (and I’ve read several). Jim (RIP) promotes a simple, conservative approach to the game. One quote sticks with me “it sometimes makes sense to play aggressive, but it always makes sense to play smart”. Anyway, his approach different shots is easy to adopt by recreational golfers.

A very good golf swing theory. I did find that I was getting a little to "handsy". Jim focuses on the importance of the hands which caused me to hit too many hooks.
