Lang Tools CLT-2 100 PSI Cylinder Leakage Tester with 2 Gauges, One Size

Recently used this and can co firm it works very well. It is made very well.

Purchased to do a leak down test on my Harley, works as it should, however the first one the needles got out of whack. Exchanged for a new one and I have used the new one several times with zero issues, in fact I just checked my riding lawnmower recently trying to diagnose fuel in the crankcase. The storage case is not form fit but it does the job. Value for money I would say is not bad. I cannot attest to the accuracy versus an expensive setup but if you are leaking by it definitely shows rather quickly on the gauge versus when you are holding good pressure (>20%). The body itself is very nice and when these gauges eventually fail again I will just replace them with better quality so to me, it's well worth it over a $100+ setup.

I bought this to do a leak down test on an ailing slant 6. It helped me to identify a leaking exhaust valve in #3 cylinder. This tool seems to be reasonably well made and was able to handle 100psi with no problem. It came with instructions which was helpful. As others have noted the case is a tight fit with the hose. Take a picture of how it is packaged before you remove everything from the case so that you can put it back the same way. I could not find any country of origin anywhere on the tool. Don't waste your money on the cheap 15psi units. They will not adequately do the job.

Lang tools are usually pretty awesome. You could use to find them under the name Kastar, but I thing it's all Lang now. Either way, Snap On rebrands a lot of Lang tools, and sells them as SnapOn. This leak down tester is one of them. I think the SnapOn version may come with a different case, but I could be wrong there. The case this one comes with is slightly too small for the tool, so the fitment is not very good. Not a big deal, just annoying for some people. Anyway the tool works fine, as you would expect, not much to say there. The quality, as usual, with Lang is very good. I've looked at the OTC and Harbor Freight options. Harbor Freight seems way to cheap for a tool like this. OTC is probably acceptable, but I just didn't like the look of it. Anyway that's it. Not a tool I need to use all the time, but a nice one to for when I do. Another note for Lang tools. Since SnapOn sells them as their own, they can get all the parts for them. So when pieces and parts from your Lang Tools break or get lost, you can order the replacements through your Snap On dealer. Makes it handy for the Lang pulley puller I have. My Snapon guy has warrantied several parts from it, because they are the same as his Snapon kit.

Alot cheaper then other brands that are literally just this tool but rebranded the only thing that's odd is the case ......you would think that it would be extremely well formed to fit but they just kinda make sure lid shuts that's about it but tool is great 👍
