Zumba is a fantastic game for those who want to have a variety ...
Zumba is a fantastic game for those who want to have a variety of music and culture in their dancing game, and a fun one to boot. It's a bit more forgiving than Just Dance 2014, so when you hear the music and see the dance patterns it usually gives credit where credit is due, unless you aren't moving of course. If you're looking for household names and pop stars, then look away; this set-list is attune to just the music going to the moves, as well as Zumba original music. That said it's all very fun, there's a solid variety to the songs, and once you find some that you like, you're pretty hooked. Zumba has some incredibly frustrating kinect controls, it was a huge mistake not to implement use of the controller to navigate menus. Also with multiple players, the kinect has a difficult time linking a gamertag to the person, and when you want to sign in to continue your workout progress it becomes very tedious. My only other complaint is that I wish the setlist were a little bit more than 44 songs, but at the same time that's hardly anything to rag on, considering the replay-ability on most of the songs. If you're looking for a game to dance to and maybe get something out of it, Zumba hits the right notes, it'll make you sweat after a few songs, the music is fun, and it really moves every part of your body. Just make sure you have the patience to tolerate the kinect and it's few shortcomings

My favorite Kinect game so far
I didn't buy this game for several months based on the previous reviews. I took the risk and bought it anyway and am very glad I did. I play this game now more than all the others combined. It tracks very well for me and the levels from beginner to expert are very good as I have never danced before but am having fun right from the start. The tutorials on the dance steps help a lot as do the warm ups and cool downs. I play this game for fitness and fun and I actually look forward to exercising now. It does track better if you can get back the 8-10 feet distance though. Some games work good at the 6-8 feet, this one doesn't. I would recommend having the 8-10 feet space from the sensor. If you play this as a game and want to rack up scores you will probably be disappointed. The sensor does well in tracking my movements, its just that the dancing has movement in every part of your body so it's impossible to get it completely right unless you are a Zumba dance teacher. I do have a newer Xbox system, one that came with the kinect system so maybe that is why is tracks well and other reviews said theirs didn't. I'm not sure, it's just a guess. I highly recommend it if you like that type of music and dancing for fun and exercise. It will definitely get you up and moving and your body will feel less tense and more flexible even after just a few days playing.

Great workout, but not really a "game"
I was hesitant to purchase this game after some of the previous reviews. That being said I decided that the reason I wanted the game was so that I could use it as a workout not strictly for entertainment purposes. I dont worry much about my scores or how perfectly I match the computerized image. Fortunately the game doesnt keep you from moving on if you dont match it the way most of the other workout games do (causing you to do 1 move 25 instead of 10 times because your form wasnt perfect).I have had a few issues signing into the game at the welcome screen where it tells you to wave to enroll, but then never actually enrolls you. Another issue is that anytime I move towards the outside view of the kinect it thinks I am a second person and adds a guest. It still keeps my progress so I dont know if it is causing any kind of problems but it does happen. The game would also benefit from some updated songs/dance routines, although as a none dancer it will take some time for me to really get all the dance moves and routines down. All in all I am quite pleased with the "game". I would definitely recommend it as a workout game but would suggest you go another route if you are looking for something fun and carefree to do with friends.

Update does not make this "game" even tolerable
I love you Zumba, and I really wanted to like this game. I've been reading all of these horrible reviews since November and held off getting it until now, hopeful that the bugs have been worked out. I am very disappointed to see that they haven't.First, the menus are horrible and you don't have the option to use the xbox controller. Your arm gets tired just from going through the menus. Then, if you want to brush up on some moves and learn them with the tutorial, good luck. You'd have to be a professional dancer to pick them up that fast. No "easy beats" like the videos and they go through each move whether you've gotten the last one down or not (actually, it thinks you have the moves down when you're just standing there dumbfounded).I thought it want picking up my movement because it was too dark. I turned some lights on and it didn't help. Thought maybe it was because I was wearing dark clothing, so I changed and nothing. The character will go from green to red in less than half a second and goes back and forth so quickly you aren't sure what it's trying to tell you.I could go on for a few more paragraphs but it's all been written before. Don't waste your money -invest in the zumba videos- the money goes to the same people either way, and you actually get some benefit from the videos.
