Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Flat Worm

These were delivered on time and exactly what I was expecting. Caught a great bass my first time using them and can't wait to do it again. They seem durable enough and and the value is a bit better than tracking them down in store.

Been struggling on a clear, heavily pressured lake near us where the bass see every bait imaginable by mid-summer, so I picked up a pack of these mainly to try ned rigging since I'd heard the smaller finesse profile does well when fish get spooky in clear water. Rigged one on a light mushroom head jig and downsized my line to give it the most natural presentation I could. Action on the drag or slow hop is subtle, doesn't dart around too much, just a lazy little shimmy that seemed to be exactly what these fish wanted after ignoring my usual spinnerbaits and crankbaits all morning. Landed four keeper largemouth and a couple dinks in under an hour once I found the right retrieve, mostly just dead sticking it on bottom and letting the scent do the work. Buoyancy seemed decent too, stood up nicely off the bottom on the jighead instead of laying flat, which matters a lot for ned rig presentations. Didn't tear as fast as I expected given how soft it feels, got several fish per bait before needing to swap. Colors in the pack gave me enough options to match the clear, natural forage in this lake without anything too flashy. Only downside is the smaller profile means the pack empties out quicker than I'd like if the bite's steady, wished it came with a couple more per bag. Definitely keeping these stocked for tougher, clear water days when the fish want something subtle instead of reactive. Not really a value but damn do they work!

Been drop shotting a rocky point on our lake for a couple weeks with basically nothing to show for it, tried the usual finesse worms without much interest from the smallmouth that I know are stacked up there. Picked up a pack of these in a green pumpkin color mostly out of frustration more than confidence. They are not cheap but man, you can also use them omn a ned rig when all else fails! First cast out on the drop shot rig, had a fish on within maybe ten minutes, then another shortly after. Slim profile definitely gets a nice subtle shimmy on the fall and even just twitching it in place, doesn't take much action from the rod tip to get it moving right. Scent seems to actually matter too, had a couple fish hang onto it a beat longer than I'm used to before I set the hook, gave me a little more room for error on timing. Held up decent through several fish before tearing, better than some of the mushier scented baits I've used that basically disintegrate after one good bite. Colors looked true to the pictures, not washed out like some baits end up once you actually open the bag. Only gripe is the bag doesn't reseal great, scent starts fading if you don't transfer them to something airtight. Definitely restocking these before our next trip out.

Berkley has come through again with these MaxScent flat worms. I've been doing a lot of bass fishing in so cal lately and the bite seems to change daily but these will always produce fish for me. I've only tried the dark green pumpkin and dip/ watermelon because I haven't needed to try anything else yet. They're pretty durable for a scented plastic and ive landed 10 or more fish on the same one without too much hassle keeping in on a hook or jig heads. They fish any way you like drop shot, Texas rig, Carolina etc. I personally use 1/0 hooks with them. I recently just landed my personal best 9.5lb bass using one of the green pumpkin watermelon color. These are a mandatory item in my bag now.

Used these a lot before fall great range of fish. Cost is a thing though, loose a lot of bait….

Caught about 20 smallies and a rock bass....so fair to say they work great! And we were sight fishing them too!
