Zippo 65827 Butane Lighter Insert - Double Torch

At the price. Half it usually costs. It’s a great buy. Fit perfectly in even the oldest zippos I have and no need for constant refills and the smell plus much safer in my opinion. Lights first time, every time and even better windproof than the regular inserts. Like a mini blow torch. Very durable construction and doesn’t waste on fuel as you can just the flame size and lasts much longer than the original inserts.

This is a fantastic upgrade for what was my traditional zippo lighter. This butane insert fits into any standard zippo case, and fits perfectly as you'd expect. It is well made and looks fantastically shiny. Filling the insert is super easy, and is low maintenance. I love my classic zippo, but it is quite a high maintenance lighter with the original lighter fluid insert - having to replace flint, cotton, and constantly refill was a hassle. The butane lighter only needs occasional top ups of butane. Butane also keeps a lot better than lighter fluid (in a zippo). It won't evaporate or dry out, and has been far more reliable. The butane lighter insert also provides a stronger, hotter, and more windproof flame. Whilst it's not as aesthetical or classic as the original insert, its a far more practical upgrade in my opinion.

Out of the box these don't work at all really. (Your lucky if it ever lights and it never stays lit) You need to remove the 2 screws on the bottom, remove the plate and o ring around the adjuster then get a knife and lift the stopper on the adjuster while turning it slightly past where it should go and leave it there. Reasemble and it will work perfectly. This isn't as complicated as it sounds and takes around a minute. There will probably be videos on YouTube if you need help. Don't let this out you off because there great once it's done and it only needs doing once. These also fit in STAR lighter cases. I have mine in one my daughter had engraved for me.

I had an issue with it (propane) that was my fault and have updated the review. The issue below is what happened when I filled it with gas that wasn’t butane but a butane/propane mix: Unreliable ignition. I didn’t use it much. Worked fine on first fill. Now filled again a couple of times and it’s sparking and gas sounds like it’s coming out but no burn. Tried turning it up and down in case the gas flow is too strong for the spark to ignite but hmm a bit useless without the flame.

The lighter doesn't ignite consistently. Sometimes I am pressing it 20+ times before it ignite once. I can see no physical issue with the lighter but it doesn't work properly. Apparently a known issue with these Zippo inserts. Pretty disappointed in the company release this trash product.

These are brilliant! I had an old favourite Zippo that I didn't want to throw, but the fit on the lid wasn't good, so the lighter fluid ran out very quickly, due to evaporation. Chuck one of these bad-boys in there and problem solved! Favourite old zippo, works for ages...only downside is you don't get that infamous Zippo stink! I like these so much I bought a second one to fix another Zippo...

Brilliant got it for an old zippo I was fed up fill up with petrol i have since bought another for my spare zippo the gas seems to last

Love it - no more fuel to worry about remembering to get and can be messy refilling Snug fit - did have a little trouble getting the insert out to charge but with a bit of manipulation got it sorted - no chance it will fall out ! Can definitely light up regardless of wind or weather conditions Unsure of battery life at the moment as its new Well done Zippo for moving with the times
