I don’t know why I fussed over shelling out the $20 for this sauce - a teardrop sized amount will have your tongue on fire and your face expanding from the heat. As others said it tastes good too. I was sick of buying hot sauces that didn’t quite deliver on heat even if they delivered on a nice flavor profile; this sauce solves the issue of both since you can just add [x] amount of this sauce to any other to give it the kick it should’ve come with in the first place. Cannot recommend this product enough.

Okay, so I was looking for some hot sauce with a little bit of heat and a lot of flavor. The name Mad Dog 357 itself should have been a dead giveaway (along with the bullet that is attached to the bottle), but I find that even at my age, I'm often oblivious to warning signs. Or maybe my mind convinces me that I'm still young, and thus somehow immortal. In any case, I paid for my mistaken thinking, and I'm quite sure that I will be paying for it yet again in the near future.Let me start by saying that I took only a small amount to test the flavor. A small amount being a pinky brushed over the residuals on the inside of the cap. It didn't hit me at first, so I dabbed a little bit more on my tongue. And then it started.This is a hospital trip short of simultaneously gargling with lye while grilling your lips on a cast-iron Weber barbeque. A full twenty minutes after I had taken a minute amount of this satanic baby batter, my tongue was searing with a rabid and vicious intensity. And it just kept getting worse. My wife, who is a "heat aficionado" said "Let me try some" when she saw me crying silently. Apparently true love is suffering together. I got up and went to the kitchen. I was experiencing tunnel vision and it felt like a live agitated weasel had been placed inside my mouth. I was going to get some milk, but to my chagrin, we didn't have any. I sat at the table and put my head in my hands. I focused on the pain and stared into the darkness of my own eyelids. Every little thing becomes significant when the mind is seeking relief from pain. I was breathing like a dragon with asthma and beads of sweat were rolling down my forehead. I tried to drink some water, knowing it wouldn't help, but at that point I would have drank gasoline to put the fire out.I remember hearing my wife in the other room mutter something like "Holy @#&*", but I was too self-absorbed in my own suffering. After a few minutes, my wife came into the kitchen, apparently looking for the same remedy. With no milk to be found, I heard her mutter a few more expletives and she grabbed a glass of water. We both sat in silence, nursing the cold water, waiting for the hell fire to dissipate. Eventually it became manageable, and I asked my wife what she thought. She just muttered that it was ridiculous and went off to the bedroom. As for me, I'm not sure. I do not know what will happen when this stuff makes its way through my digestive tract, but I'll probably be eating more soon.

Mad Dog 357 25th Anniversary is one of those sauces that certainly fits in the lower tier of a super hot. With the right amount (which isn’t a whole lot) it is certainly capable of lighting you up and providing a nice burn that will last for a few minutes. To me this certainly tastes better than the original 357, but it still has that medicinal/chemical extract taste. A lot of people will say that it doesn’t have this flavor but to me I definitely taste it and maybe it’s because I’m particularly sensitive to extracts. It’s not a flavor that is forward, it sits in the background, but it’s still there.This has a mostly pleasant heavy onion and garlic flavor. I say mostly because it doesn’t quite taste as fresh as something like Reaper Squeezin’s or any of those type of all natural super hots. For me there’s a something a little off, but the sauce as a whole isn’t entirely unpleasant, it’s just not quite on the level as some of the all natural really fresh sauces and mashes.I like purity and this sauce has xanthan gum as an ingredient. Xanthan gum is a thickening additive and it’s also used in some medications, which might contribute a little bit to the sight medicinal flavor that I get from this sauce. It’s a common ingredient in a lot of things so it’s not terrible, but I would prefer the sauce to be as natural as possible, even if they add a bit of extract. I also think it contributes to that unnatural consistency like you see in common ketchup and BBQ sauce. I would prefer an all natural sauce that I have to shake and mix to something that uses xanthan gum which unnaturally binds ingredients together.Not related to the sauce itself, but I was surprised with the quality of the included bullet keychain. The keyring doesn’t feel cheap and the bullet has a nice bit of heft to it which doesn’t come across as cheap. Also included in the bullet is a tiny tasting spoon which is a nice touch.All in all it’s a good sauce and it will light up all but the most hardcore chili-heads. I just wish it was a little fresher and they used all natural ingredients. It might take away from the heat a bit but I think it would improve the flavor.

This hot sauce definitely delivers some serious heat. The last dab and pepper x has nothing on this sauce. It was exactly what I was looking for.
