Bodum Knife Block, Medium, Off White

This is my favorite new thing in my "down-sized" kitchen. It is sleek and handy and extremely clever. It not only holds all sizes of my knives, but also my sharpener and kitchen shears. I love it!! The only drawback is the advertising- I wish it didn't say BODUM down both sides.

I was having a hard time deciding between this Bodum knife block and a similar no-name version that was actually cuter. However, I was worried about quality and figured it was better to go with the brand name - well so much for that. This arrived with the bottom broken off and no way to reattach unless you were to melt it on or something. Others mentioned in reviews that you can snap off the bottom to get the black things out and clean it or whatever, but I see absolutely no mechanism for snapping it on and off, it looked like it was normally sealed on with a lightly melted plastic seam or something and it just broke off. There was no way to re-attach it. In general it also just looked kinda cheap in person, and even if the bottom wasn't broken off I don't know that I'd have kept it. I ended up getting a round stainless steel one instead and so far so good.

This is the 3rd Bodem knife block, and the first one that didn't have enough of the plastic reeds that hold the knives together. I really like the knife holder as you can put any size knife anyplace, blades are safe, and it is a very attractive on my kitchen counter versa the wood block. I would like to get more black plastic reeds to fill up my holder so the knives would not sink to the bottom in this particular holder. thank you

I just love this knife block. The space saving size & design are great. Unfortunately, I had to return it. My standard size Santoku knife would fit height wise, but the blade at the top was too wide to fit when inserted all the way. The only way for it to fit would be to turn it sideways & that takes up too much space for other knives :( If you have narrow knives, I would definitely recommend this block, but if you have any larger ones such as a Santoku or Chef knife, you'll most likely run into the same problem as myself. I wish it was a little wider at the mouth.

I have a small kitchen, limited counter space. My Sabatier cooking, boning and paring knives used to hang on a magnetic rack, but the Bodum Universal Knife Block is safer, better for the knives. Now that I'm sure I like it, I'll add my new 8" chef's knife and 5" utility knife from Henkels...serious enough? I do wish it were deeper, and it's narrower than the bigger knives. But with a little thought and care, I found how to place the knives in the block so the exposed blades are not a hazard.

Won’t be returning because I don’t feel like dealing with that process but I would not recommend this product. $30 for an extremely cheaply made product. The weight of the knife holding bristles or whatever they are cause the bottom to come off anytime you move it. Small and just not worth it. Spend the extra money and get something nicer

I've grown up with knives always being accessible on the counter. So when i moved to my new apartment this was a must, however my counter space is limited. Knife blocks tend to be bulky and other universal knife blocks tend to be ugly. After reading other reviews for this product, i decided to give it a try, knowing that i could return it without a problem if it didn't work well for me.This block is great. It's compact, yet spacious. It fits wonderfully on my counter without taking up too much room and holds all my knives with room for more. I also like that it is made of plastic on the outside which will make cleaning it from splatters a breeze.

When we first got it, I loved this product. It looks nice and held all of my knives very well. However, over a short period of time, it has become loose to the point that my pairing and boning knife slip pretty far in. Overall, I am disappointed.

Ottimo per cucine piccole dove occorre occupare meno spazio possibile sul piano di lavoro.Acquistato come regalo per i suoceri che l'hanno trovato molto comodo utilizzandolo a casa mia.Accoglie parecchi coltelli e anche le forbici se molto lineari nella forma.Facile da lavare, si sfila l'interno (formato da decide e decine di piccolissimi tubicini uniti alla base) e si possono eliminare eventuali briciole o polvereL'ho comprato "bianco crema" ma in realtà è "bianco ghiaccio" quindi tendente al grigio (chiarissimo)Difetti da evidenziare:- essendo così stretto con coltelli molto alti può sbilaciarsi facilmente dopo un piccolo urto e in cucina può accadere- il costo. Si paga più che altro nome e design- la plastica esterna è morbida direi un pochino gommosa quindi per pulirlo bene occorre lavarlo usando perlomeno una spugnetta bagnata, il panno anche se di microfibra può lasciare pelucchi vari e sul mio nero si vedono.- non adatto ai coltelli per formaggi morbidi, per intenderci quelli bucati sulla lama (si incastrano i tubicini che ne compongono l'interno)Consegna in aticipo sui tempi stabiliti

Fabulous knife block. I purchased this as a gift for my elderly mom. It's very sturdy and lovely on the countertop. Holds several knives easily. She's compromised due to severe arthritis, so having something that allows her to easily work with was very important. We couldn't be happier!

Beautiful design and easy to use. This is very a very flexible way to store knives on the counter without taking up too much room. It is not quite high enough to cover the blade of my longest knife so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

We've been using this for about 6 months, and the needles are already starting to crack and really lose their shape and the plastic has already cracked from everyday use. My parents have two of them which seem to be of much better quality, but they bought them a while ago, probably when they used better materials.I would stay away from this.

This is a great idea - shove your knives in any way you like; the little plastic sticks will yield and hold your knife in place. In practice what happens is that this only works for small knives. Large knives, like my Santoku, will only go in against the outside edge. I suspect what is happening is that the plastic sticks do not yield to the larger blade. I have a large Chef's knife - same problem, it will not go in. So, I have two knives that live in a drawer and they happen to be my most used knives. I am looking for a different solution and then this thing goes in the recycle bin - it is recyclable I hope.
