FiddesMellow Wax Furniture Polish 400ml - Red Mahogany (Rich Mahogany) by Fiddes & Sons

I was a bit unsure about buying this, having no experience waxing or polishing wood before, I wasn't entirely sure how easy it would be to use, but it was actually very, very easy! The colour is subtle, but perfect, very deep brown/Burgundy, but I recommend you wear gloves. I didn't at first and stained my hand a lovely rich mahogany, which whilst being a very nice colour, was a bit odd all over my fingers and very difficult to wash off. Using the wax was simple though, I just bought a pack of three lint free wax polishing cloths, rubbed small amounts on, going with the grain when I could and then sat back and left for 10 minutes before going in with a fresh cloth and buffing it up. It gives a beautiful shine and deep colour to the result and has made my cabinet look so much fresher and more lively as the wood had started to go a bit dull and flat. It does smell very strong, but it's not a bad smell at all and was completely gone after a couple of hours. I definitely recommend this wax, super easy to use and you get an absolute ton for your money, I didn't even use a fraction on my cabinet and it's not small at all. I imagine I'll have enough wax for both this unit and my captains desk and chair to last the rest of my life. Great product!

As the headline says, it is easy to apply, just make sure that you choose the nearest colour to the wood that you have and try to use a pair of disposable gloves. It is not a high gloss finish but will leave a sheen on the surface. The amount supplied will go a long way, it’s like old fashioned applied polish and better than spray.

Brought up the colour of my faded antique mahogany shelf unit beautifully. It did require 3 applications to bring the satisfactory colour. Easy to apply with no overpowering smell.
