The Ultimate Noah's Ark

Mostly suitable for children aged 5 upwards, I would think. Enjoyable and informative.
Good to share together with younger end children, as an introduction to broader wildlife/ species'

As good now as it was in 1993
I had this as a child and adored it. Even though it's now a long time after the end of the big-money competition, it's still as fun as ever. And I've really enjoyed showing it and spending an hour or so with adult friends too. My only criticism is that it's fiendishly difficult!I just wish it were possible to buy a full sized poster version too.

Bought for my dads birthday as we had these when we were kids and they got misplaced. Dad loves it and great quality. Postage wasn't great as arrived in a ripped jiffy envelope- luckily wasn't damaged

Good book.
Compared to the Ultimate Alphabet by the same author, I was a little disappointed with this book as the pictures aren't as highly detailed. That being said, I imagine there are far fewer animals than there are words beginning with S, so that probably explains why. It's still beautifully illustrated & I'm sure we'll have lots of fun "playing" it.

So much going on...
I really like this book, there's so much going on in each picture and a great book to dip into when you've nothing better to do. The illustrations are brilliant.

Not quite his best illustrations
I was hoping that this book was going to feature the same mind blowing kind of art like that of The Ultimate Alphabet but I was disappointed in that direction. It is as challenging as any of his other "puzzle" books but I found the artwork maybe a little puerile compared to his other works. But having said that, it's better than I any art I have ever produced!None the less I am still proud to have it in my bookcase.

And the winner of the challenge was . . .
Wonderful book. The solution, direct from the author: The correct answer is a tamandua or lesser anteater. The singular creature can be found in the foreground depicted on the tambourine held by the elephant shrew. There is even a clue. In the left foreground there is an artic fox holding a green placard. He is looking towards the creature with the tambourine and pointing at the lower case (for lesser) letter A (for anteater) in the word 'Faunae'.

If you enjoyed the Where is Wally books
If you enjoyed the Where is Wally books, this is a must. It is much more that trying to find the pairs of animals and the 16 snails. It also has interesting information about the animals. It is great fun and well worth the hassle of obtaining the book, which is currently out of print. I unreservedly recommend this book.
