Started throwing errors 18 months in
Using Carbon Copy Cloner on my Macbook Pro, backing up every month to this 2TB SSD.After 18 months this drive started throwing errors. Erased, re-partitioned, and started over.No confidence. Will replace with something else.

Fantastic SSD drive
I cannot stand using a regular hard drive anymore, because you know it’s going to break. It’s not IF it will break, just when. Despite the expense, I wouldn’t purchase a laptop without an SSD drive. I purchased this drive to have a bus powered time machine backup for my MacBook Pro. I just don’t see the point in using a regular spindle type drive, to backup an SSD in my laptop. I didn’t rate the tech support because I didn’t need them. The drive just worked. When I have the extra money, I’m going to to get two of the 4TB versions, and let them alternate on time machine. Expensive solution, but a lot less expensive than a R.A.I.D. setup.
