Good product.
Needing a way to automate the electric fence surrounding my garden, I tried these. Glad I did! They work perfectly! I split a duplex outlet, making the top half a regular outl, on all the time. The bottom half wired into the photo eye, so that anything plugged into it will only come on at night. Keeps the damn deer & raccoons outta my corn! LoL I use a "Red Snapper" charger. Trust Me! You'll only make the mistake of touching a fence powered by a Snapper once! It'll bring tears to your eyes! LoL

Easy Install - feels well sealed with the electrical box with rubber gasket
We had a 4 year old light sensor that was installed by the electrician who set up our exterior lighting, he placed a conduit running up through the flat roof with a junction box and a photo cell screwed into the top of it (this was an addition). Recently the old photocell (different model) was no longer turning off at night so we were using the switch in the utility room, and often forgetting to turn it back on before dusk. After a couple of weeks of manually running our lights I ordered and quickly received this device. The angle capability was not foremost on my mind but it was cheaper than the non-adjustable, so this one it was! With the power off, installation was a breeze since I was replacing an old photocell attached to the junction box. I was happier with this one because of the thicker gasket to produce a weather tight seal. I decided to aim it North since we have unobstructed views to in all directions (except East) that would have provided a lot of intense sun on the device and perhaps breakdown the eye with UV light over the years. The silver nut on the bottom of the pictured device was not needed for my particular installation since it went into an electrical box that was threaded, it would have been used in a non-threaded box to secure the device to the box.If I had wanted to articulate the aim, the screw on the side of the joint can be loosened to allow the angle to be adjusted then re-tightened.The front of the device has a small clip, I'm not sure as to the real purpose but I guess it is for holding a temporary shade over the photocell to test. You'd need to block the light for a minute or two to test as it doesn't suddenly go on at the first shadow (good since we don't want flicker).Replacing the old unit with this one was 15 minutes, including getting up and down the ladder to access the roof. As the sunset occurred I found it kicked in right about when I expected, not too early and not too late.

Photocell
I use these for outdoor light poles in front of each condo and they seem to do a good job. Only problem is the landscapers break off the plastic swivel base so not very durable if in an exposed location where it can be hit.

Used this brand for many years
It works as intended, and it is easy to install. I wish that the wires were a bit longer.

Heed the reviews - spend your money on a better brand. Two non functioning units.
Ordered two of these - neither would open when light hit it (turn off the light). Checked them both with a multi meter, both had zero resistance through the photocell with a bright light directly on the cell. Applied voltage and the same thing. I read the reviews and ordered them anyway - should have used the twenty bucks and ordered the grey brand. Never had a problem with those. I’m not going to bother returning these, they aren’t worth it. Going right in the trash. I even went so far as to wire a 56 ohm resistor between switched leg (red) and neutral (white) to simulate a load on the cell when checking resistance and still zero ohms when bright light hit it. The switch should close when dark, operating the light, and open (OL or minimum >1 megohm on resistance check) to turn off the light(s) when light hits the cell.I can’t even comment on the other issues such as water intrusion into the body because these don’t work. Do yourself a favor and don’t take a chance on throwing away your hard earned money on these. They have cheap ccp components. It’s hit or miss, and I missed on not one, but two of these. Pretty bad QC Woods. Ordering the grey brand.**Update** 4/20/23- I had to test these out in sunlight/night and they finally worked, but the delay time for the switch to close is about 2 minutes. This is what threw me on the original testing. I had one installed outside but it only lasted a few weeks until water intrusion killed it. I stand by my original review- don’t putchase these.

I got tired of flipping the light switch on and off.
I have these lights on each side of the garage that have the photo electric sensors. After some time the plastic shielding on the sensors break. Having already replaced two pairs, I was thinking that there's got to be a better way. I bought a pair of the standard lights and wired in a switch to turn them on and off. Well, after a few times forgetting to turn off the lights in the morning, I had to come up with something better. And I didn't want to go back to the original style lights. This is when I came up with wiring in a stand alone photo electric sensor. Everything works great and the way I wanted it to. No more forgetting to flip on or off a light switch.

Reliable product, works as expected
Traditional security lights have a built-in weakness in the time-lapsed photo sensor (2-3-5-10 minutes of light, then off) that usually lasts only a couple years. When the photo sensor / timer unit fails, people often discard the whole otherwise perfectly well working security light set. We rebuild them with this dusk-dawn sensor as we really don't like the new LED security lights and prefer an old fashioned, repairable aluminum light fixture. This photo sensor works well with LED light bulbs on E26 socket (the classic light bulb) and controls LED lights on/off well. This purchase is my second Woods photo sensor in 2022 and perhaps 10th + in the last couple years.

Muy bueno
Excelente producto, va muy bien con los focos led, algo lento en su funcionamiento, es decir tapas el sensor para probarlo y no se apaga de inmediato, a los pocos minutos corta la electricidad. Muy bueno
