Bought this product to replace the original worn out battery, as replacement originals are quite expensive. However, I soon wished that I’d spent the extra a bought the genuine equipment. I should’ve followed my own Mantra, that the first expense is usually the best, or buy cheap, buy twice! They fit ok, but don’t last the whole shift, so you need at least two per walkie-talkie, otherwise you’re off air. The originals always lasted the whole day, sometimes two depending on the usage.

I have a couple of Icom M-88 radios and a number of BP-227 batteries - both Icom original and aftermarket replacements. This battery doesn't fit the radio properly - it is EXTREMELY difficult to push into place and latch, and EXTREMELY difficult to remove. If trying to swap batteries on a trip, with cold and wet hands it would be almost impossible. Batteries (sold in a 2-pack) from another Amazon seller also arrived today, and they fit perfectly.
