Great item...simple and sometimes simple is best
Ordered the 305mm model, as I did not know the required length and wanted to have extra material to remove as opposed to it not being long enough. In the end, I could have gotten away with the 285mm version. Anyways, I ended up cutting this down to 280 after some measuring and estimating to factor in for the rubber foot I purchased separately (made by Greenfield for this model). One note: the diameter of the kickstand is consistent in any place you would reasonably cut it. So I installed the foot on this before cutting it down and it fit the same afterwards. There are lines to help with measurements and the necessary angled cut. This is soft aluminum, so with a mini-hacksaw the process was very simple. You do end up with some sharp edges if you have to shorten this, so I beveled the edges with a file and highly recommend this extra step for safety. Total time to cut down and bevel was probably 10 minutes. My bicycle has the plate for a kickstand brazed on, but given that the bolt is so long and it comes with the top plate, I chose to install as pictured using all parts. Installation is very easy; my socket wouldn't clear in such a cramped area, so an open ended 9/16 wrench was all I needed to put this on. Highly recommended.

Gotta love a good kickstand...
Great kickstand! Rugged and reliable. And I'm not worried about the extra ounces extra weight to have a really good kick stand. When my daughter bought a used Greenfield that had been cut down to 265 mm (probably for a kid's bike), I discovered the brand name for these kickstands that I've seen since I was a kid. But hers was too short for her 27" bike, so I bought the 305 mm unit. It fits perfectly, allowing her bike to stand almost straight upright -- with enough lean to keep it upright when her handlebar basket is filled with books. I added the Greenfield rubber foot so it'll stand in the grass with a full basket also. I just added another 305 mm Greenfield unit to my wife's 700 mm bicycle (with handlebar basket also). I don't think it'll need any of its length cut off for her either! For hers, an exposed cable for the front derailleur passes just across the corner of the top plate on the kickstand. It rubs a bit, but it's not extreme -- worth watching. Of three bikes now with this Greenfield, only one had a mounting area that fit the kickstand perfectly. The other two just had an opening between two of the bike's metal tubes behind the pedal crank body, and the long bolt provided with the kickstand was plenty long to allow good tightening. The bolt has a 9/16" head, and it was hard to get to it for tightening on one bike. I may replace it with a 5/16-13 x 2" socket head cap screw so that I can use an Allen wrench for better tightening. This is the only change that might be needed. Whether or not you use a hacksaw to cut if down a centimeter or less, this is the kick stand that'l last. Also get the four dollar Greenfield Rubber Foot if you plan to stand up you bike in the grass or on gravel or dirt. When the bike goes eventually, I'll keep the kickstand!

Does the job without any hassle. Takes less than 3 minutes to install.
It is possibly the least expensive, but the best of the choices available. It needs only one bolt to install it, which goes in the middle of the bicycle, which makes it more stable compared to the ones installed near the rear axle. It is small, easily hides when not in use, and appears to be rust resistant.

Great kickstand, the best on the market, but not as described, missing parts.
Product I am reviewing here is "Greenfield KS2 Kickstand, 285mm, Silver ...". This is my second kickstand I ordered from Amazon this time around. I mean I bought kickstands before for our other bikes, and they worked just fine. They all were Greenfield kickstands. But this time I decided to get one of the highest reviewed kickstand from Amazon. The one I got was "TOPCABIN Bicycle Adjustable Aluminium Alloy Bike Bicycle Kickstand Side Kickstand Fit for 20" 24" 26"- Black", That kickstand had 400+ reviews averaging 4.5+ stars. I thought I was in the good hands. But I was proven wrong, while I was assembling that stand it broke in my hands. The seller of that kickstand claims that it is metal, and it is at least for about 80% of the item, the problem was not in the metal part of the kickstand, but it was, in the small plastic piece in the middle of the kickstand. It just snapped in my hands. I returned it obviously... So I went back to the old and proven item. I got it yesterday, this time I installed it on 20 inch kids bike. The kickstand is too long as it was expected. I took oscillating tool I had and in couple of tries shorten it. The reason for couple of tries was, I did not want to cut it to short. So I cut an inch at first , and 1/2 inch after (two times). With oscillating tool it is easy and I want to be safe. The stand is very strong, and will last for a long time. Bike is secured and does not move an inch. The only thing, I used is to attach this stand was the bolt, I did not need top plate. This kickstand is very secure. It works as designed! CONS: the only problem I found is in description. It is described as in the package were included : "includes top plate, rubber foot and 2 different length bolts" BUT THERE WAS NO RUBBER FOOT AND THERE WAS NO SECOND BOLT. I found only one long bolt and top plate. The bolt was to long, so I cut it with oscillating tool and it worked, I guess it is better when the bolt is too long and not too short. The bike I attached that kickstand to was kids Diamondback 20'' Octane. ( I hope this helps some one)

Aluminum (strong, light, and can be cut shorter), and USA MADE (allegedly)!
As a owner of 6 bicycles, 5 of them Mtb and one road-like, and an avid kickstand user, I have encountered kickstand issues from being too short or weak- making a bike fall over, or damaging to my bike, or in the way of pedaling. But I now have Greenfields on 3 of my bikes, and they are all great! I did install them tightening first lightly, to check position to avoid tire rubbing, or pedal strikes, before I tightened them very securely. I have not cut one shorter, but since they're aluminum and have length lines, I could do so with marking a shorter length, and cutting w/ a metal saw. And I test the balancing on different levels, as you don't always park on a flat area. They do have a slender foot, so if used on soft ground, I see that could be an issue. If that happens to me, I'll probably zip tie a short rubber hose to the bottom.

Great product
Not much to say, it's a simple kickstand. Very easy to install and trim down if you need to. This is also probably the best price you'll find. I put it on my little girl's 18" bike and trimmed it down to work.

The best kickstand I bought
This is a sturdy solid aluminum bike stand. I had one on a bike for years. It held up to a lot of abuse. And then I got in a bike accident and I managed to break it which kind of impressed me. So I got a cheaper one. That broke almost immediately. So I bought this one again. It is a solid aluminum kickstand. If you need to adjust the size you need to cut through it with a hacksaw or power tool. But it is rock solid and stable.
