Sturdy construction
Well made compost bin good strong thick sides, top. A good size for the average garden and should last for a long time. Nice colour as well.

Lasts a lifetime
I have a 700L version of this system - in fact I have 2. They have been in our garden now for 20 years, through storms and drought. In the winter the lids need to be held down with a weight - this is the only weakness of this system a catch is needed to hold the lid down. Other than that they are virtually indestructible once erected. Every year we harvest many wheelbarrow loads of excellent compost. We don't bother sorting materials, just chuck it all in and leave time (with the help of soil critters) to work its magic. I'm leaning towards a 3 bin system (new stuff, maturing stuff and mixer bin for half yearly turnover of the new bin) but a single bin works ok. Grass in contact with the sides tends to stay as straw if you don't mix it though - just chuck it back in the bin when "harvesting" the compost. I have a hotbin too, which is quicker and can cope with a wider variety of food wastes - however these green bins are tougher and better value.

A very solid hard wearing bin.
This is a very solid piece of equipment and should last a long time. Easy access to compost and a really good size.Bit of a struggle to get the sections in the right sequence and would have been easier with another person to help.

Sturdy, easy to use, it does the job!
Easy to assemble, very sturdy and practical to use. Had exactly the same one, many years ago, left in the previous house. So, bought the same one again, very happy with it.

Built to last!
Assembled in less than 5 minutes & better value than wood over time!Having started with traditional 3 wooden bin system; slot together type; comparable in cost to 2x KOMP420.Wood bins were preservative treated before use and annually on exterior; less than 5 years later and the wood itself is only fit for compost or burning! So I consider the various plastic bin designs out there; not convinced by the hundreds of negative reviews for the cheaper £20-60 cube bins which people say bust at the seems...Selection narrowed to Green Johanna & this Container Trading KOMP 420 which was eventual purchase.Quick assembly; existing wood bins emptied; new plastic composters in place & swiftly filled... My two year old niece helped me insert the rods it is that easy! Some reviews suggest this KOMP is a hot composter but I couldn't see this from online marketing material; however later the same day after build and fill... the composter is already dripping with condensation inside definately demonstrating it's hot composting & insulating properties.Strong recycled plastic & built to last... maybe plastic does have it's place in gardens after all! Will update in due course with pictures and compost results over time...
