4 inch Cotton and Wool Fiber Futon (Twin)

Update after 7 years: we still LOVE this cotton/wool futon mattress!!! It has stood the test of time and it has still got lots of life left in it! The reviews complaining that it’s too firm are frustrating. Of course it’s firm! It’s only 4” of cotton and wool that packs down under the weight of your body. So be realistic. We love the pure latex topper on it, adds some nice give for the shoulders and hips. This has been slept on not only by our kiddo but also both parents after back injuries when stable/firm sleep surface was essential. Game changer!Thank you BioSleep Concepts for a chemical free, good quality, ALL natural, cotton/wool futon mattress!!! Our daughter no longer wakes up sneezing, and no more complaints about her sinuses hurting! If people knew what was being put in their families mattresses, all the chemicals, flame retardants, synthetic foams that emit VOCs into our air and toxify our homes and planet, more people would be opting for these natural futon mattresses that use wool as a natural flame retardant! We opened the mattress and NO OFF GASSING!!!! Just the glorious smell of nature, kind of like sheep and hay! Which you don’t smell once you put bedding on, just fresh out of sealed/rolled package, then dissipates quickly. Love it! Love it! Thank you for making a clean sleeping environment possible! Everything else was way over our budget so, we had to get creative! Knowing this would pack down and become quite firm, we topped the futon with a piece of all natural Dunlop latex from “latex for less” (also here on amazon) and it’s a perfect setup for her, in fact, we love it so much, we want the same set up for our next king bed! So sad to see I can’t find these futons on amazon anymore so will likely have to purchase our king direct from biosleep concepts, which is fine. Just surprised to see it no longer available right after we received our order. Hope this review helps another mumma searching for an affordable, healthy mattress for her babies. So thankful for the peace of mind, knowing she isn’t breathing in chemicals all night long! Wish we had found this sooner.

The mattress was very thin, way too thin to actually sleep on. The customer service was the worst of any company I’ve ever worked with in my life. Save your money!

Very pleased with this mattress. It lacked the strong chemical odors you sometimes experience when you unwrap a new mattresses. It is thin, as advertised, so might not work for all applications but for us it was perfect.

Should not be sold as a mattress, this is more of a mattress topper. It’s smaller than a standard full so will not sure right on a full size frame. Im still keeping it though because it’s the only futon without flame retardants on amazon

We like the feel. Bought a think natural latex topped for it right off the bat just in case. The combo is great. The wool definitely has a smell. It’s faded over time but still... don’t like that aspect of it.

I love the warmth of the wool, love the over all feel of the mattress, but at 56 years old I'm finding that the 'floor' feel is pretty hard on my hips, I wish I'd gone for the 8" instead to have a little more cush.
