Review: This was my first book by Kristy Marie and I immediately loved it. First thing I did was buy a signed copy off her website. It is a story unlike anything I have ever read and I absolutely loved it! . Ainsley is a little eccentric at times, but hopeful. She followed her boyfriend to med school and gave up her dreams to be with him. Only to come home after work and find the unexpected. Now she is homeless and trying to start over. . Maverick is mysterious, growly and the one people go to when they need a favor. Everyone wants to be him. To the outside world Maverick has everything at his fingertips. The guy has more rumors circulating about him than should be possible. . Ainsley's life is literally going up in flames. She ends up homeless, friendless and loveless. She unknowingly meets Maverick one night in an unfortunate encounter. The next day she goes to the "one who grants favors" desperately looking for a place to live. Maverick begrudgingly decides to help her find a place all the while she crawls under his skin. This is a fun, sexy, flirty tension filled slow burn romance. But not too slow! The banter between Ainsley and Maverick was everything! I laughed so hard and so many times! I highlighted so many parts in this book! The chemistry between these two was delicious! There are a few things I was completely surprised by in the best way! Their character growth was my favorite. They are so good for each other! Really...everyone should read this book! I am reading Mavericks best friend Sebastian's story now in Subscriber Wars!😝 Edited to Add: I just listened to the audiobook by Heather Firth and Jacob Morgan. This was my first book narrated by Heather and I think she such a great job bringing Ainsley to life. She was literally perfect! Jacob Morgan, is one of my FAVORITE narrators. He did an amazing job as Maverick further cementing Maverick as one of my favorite men! I highly recommend not only this book, but this audiobook! I loved it!

What happens when you walk in to your apartment that you share with your roommate only to find her and your boyfriend "in the act"? You start an accidental fire, of course. And get yourself kicked out of said apartment and its premises. IOU starts off with a bang and had me feeling so bad for Ainsley. She's just a young woman in a crappy situation. Maybe a little naive, but I loved her sense of humor, sarcasm and her heart. But then Bostic steps up! I didn't know his place in the story, but I fell for that man. Tell me there is more to his story, please. Without a place to live and in a precarious situation at work, Ainsley ends up on the doorstep of Maverick, an infamous college student that no one truly knows . He's notorious for his deck of cards and granting people wishes, but at a price. And at this point, Ainsley would do anything for a peaceful night of sleep. Maverick and Ainsley were total opposites but an utter delight. Quirky Ainsley and Broody Maverick made this story go 'round. Although Maverick is a grump, it's his supportive ways of Ainsley and the way he pushes her that had me smiling as I turned those pages to see what these two would get up to next. And the way Ainsley saw right through Maverick and his actions? Perfection. I couldn't get enough of these two and the way they interacted and pushed each other's buttons. The tension and the humor was electrifying. With a little bit of a slow burn and all the roommate tension, Kristy Marie had me smiling and enjoying Ainsley and Maverick's story. Even when there were some secrets being hidden, I liked how Maverick came to bat for Ainsley and supported his woman. I couldn't help but enjoy how these two were strangers, turned roommates, turned maybe friends to absolute lovers. A Solid 4 stars. A fun and enjoyable book with characters that you can't help but fall in love with.

This is a surprising book. Not knowing what to expect, I just started reading and was delightfully surprised! It’s fun, serious, goofy, sad, and happy, along with lots of other adjectives that could be used here. It’s thought-provoking—who knew that how you word a question can be more important than the question?? And that the results might be way different than expected?? Maverick is an enigma to almost everyone on his college campus. He grants ‘favors’ to people who need them, and trades them a playing card with ‘IOU’ written on it. It’s all very secretive and rumors abound about him. Ainsley walks in on her roommate and boyfriend unexpectedly, to find them in an extremely compromising position, which leads to her throwing a lit candle at them, and accidentally catching the curtains on fire. Thus, her apartment manager kicks her out of her own apartment, and her boyfriend dumps Ainsley for the roommate. Ainsley is subsequently homeless, but finds a good friend in the fire captain who shows up to put out the fire. It’s a pretty cool opening scene, and one that leads to the rest of this interesting story…but you’ll need to read it for yourself to find out what else happens!

I could not get enough of these characters and the words Kristy has written. This book has it all, comedy, angst, sexual chemistry, and a unique plot line that I could not get enough of! . Ainsley is EVERYTHING! I adored her sass, sweetness, and realness so much. Due to some unforeseen events Ainsley has to find a new place to live, unfortunately for her she doesn’t have many friends to ask. So, when she’s officially lost all faith in walks her answer. I love the whole vibe to this book, with a chaotic heroine and a what seems to be a grouchy MMC. The chemistry between Ainsley and Maverick is everything, I love the banter and how they antaganise each other but in good jest. I love Maverick, he’s book boyfriend material and the lengths he goes to for Ainsley will have you falling for him. Ainsley is sweet, and yet a ball of energy that turns everything upside down for him. She’s funny and challenges him in all the best ways. They really are perfect for each other. I love the writing style of this author, the more I read of her books, the more she’s becoming one of my favourites

I read Cooper's story first and then I got curious about Maverik's, and It didn't dissapoint at all. I loved It.

IOU is a romantic comedy by Kristy Marie. This book was my first read by this author and i absolutely loved it. Ainsley and Maverick are so funny, sweet and hot together. Maverick is this hot and brooding guy, most people are afraid of. And Ainsley is this lovely, caring girl, who can act a little crazy at times. You can feel the chemestry between these two from the very beginning. I really enjoyed reading this book. It's one of my favorite reads in 2020. If you're looking for a light in these dark times, this is the perfect book for you.

Where can I get myself a Maverick?!! I want one ASAP! On a serious note....I just loved Ainsley n Maverick. I never thought I would fall in love with some characters in a book, but they just pulled me in! This book is just all kinds of awesome n some!
