The trimmer does its job.
My nose hair is thick and I needed something to controll it better than using tiny scissiors to trim. That took too much precision and time. This nose trimmer is very easy to use. It doesnt tug on my hair and it trims efficiently. I believe the price is decent for how well it works. Please note that mine did NOT include a AA battery. Make sure you have one available.

Works great
Lightweight and easy to use. Cleans up nose hair with ease and no pain. Nice and quiet and holds a long charge in my experience. Easy cleanup and waterproof as well.

Well-made, effective, and quiet but can stop working (see possibly solutions in review)
I had been using an older model Panasonic ear/nose-hair trimmer for over five years until it finally gave up the ghost. This one is even better. It's solidly-built, comfortable to hold, and very effective at the simple task it's designed for--removing small hairs. I didn't have any problem with the noise level--I thought it was fairly quiet--but if, for some reason, you put it deep into your ear it does sound noisy. But for nose hair and hair at the entrance to your ear canal I found it fine. I think it's a good value for what you get. If this one lasts close to five years, like my last one, I'll be very happy with it.In the past two months, it stopped working four times. I puzzled over what to do and considered ditching it. But since it's a nice product and there isn't an obvious replacement to buy, I decided to experiment a bit. The first time it started working again after I removed the battery and reinserted it. The second time this didn't work but rapping the base of the trimmer on a countertop got it working again. The third time, when I hadn't used it for over a week, neither of these solutions worked and I was resigned to ditching it but decided to bank it harder against the countertop and after 5-6 hits it started working again. The fourth time, when I hadn't used for several days, 2 knocks did the trick. It's been working perfectly for about four months since then.I'm mentioning this because other reviews also mentioned this problem (though not the potential solutions), so it may affect your purchase decision and, if you purchase this trimmer, you may need to deal with the problem. I puzzled over what caused the problem and two guesses are that it is either (1) a loose connection between the battery and motor due to low manufacturing tolerances or (2) the lubricant hardens during periods when the trimmer isn't used. But I'm not sure.I have three recommendations. First, consider another trimmer that doesn't have this problem (or worse problems). Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing any. Second, check out the product carefully during the return window so you can exchange it for one that (hopefully) doesn't have this problem. Third, if it's past the return period, try using it regularly and try these solutions before you ditch it.

Cost effective replacement blade for my ER-GN70-K
I think that Panasonic makes stellar electric nose & ear hair trimmers.A couple of years ago, I upgraded to a ER-GN70-K, which is more powerful and has a built in vacuum to help catch trimmings. But, the blades don't last forever, and the blades on my ER-GN70-K were getting very old and loud.I looked up the replacement blade (ER9972) and it the price is pretty high for just the blade. Then, I found that this ER-GN30-H uses the exact same blade as my ER-GN70-K.So I was able to buy this ER-GN30-H for less than the price of a replacement blade, and moved the blade to my old trimmer. Now I can save this ER-GN30-H as a backup.

Good trimmer, but it does not last very long.
This is the second one that I have purchased. The trimmer does a very good job for its intended purpose. The problem is that after just a few weeks it begins to malfunction and will not turn on. I remove the battery and adjust the connecting battery tab. That works for a short time and then it has to be done again. I readjust it again. After a few times, it will not operate. I purchased a second one thinking that the first one was just a lemon. After two weeks, the same thing happened. It trims better than the other brands that I have tried, but I wish the unit lasted longer.

Sporadic power-up. failing after a year.
Worked great at first. But then started failing on power-up. Maybe a lemon, but if all the high rating reviews are based on short term they may need to wait a year an revisit it. My situation is the same as multiple 1-star ratings. After a year of infrequent use (and spotless cleaning when it was) it started powering up and operating sporadically, like the battery wasn't connecting well OR the motor was failing. Had the characteristic of very low battery, but I tried 2 brand new Energizer Max batteries (verified full power), no different. Tapping it would change the RPM or cause it to stop. Holding the body with any grip would change the RPM drastically. Funny thing is this is the EXACT same thing that happened with the last one I had (a Microtouch). Same internals? Disappointing. UPDATE: Trimmer has all but fail completely. There is some problem with the battery power making it to the motor. The batt is fine (tried new, same problem). I read this on other 1 star ratings. No point in getting another, or other Panasonic.
