Why want mine let paint in at all?

Perhaps the valve is clogged; if so you can soak the valve in paint thinner and rinse in hot water.

why are some shipped with 4 o ring and some with 3?

If it is a concern I would contact the mfg. and ask them. I presume, at one point, they had a change in production and to make it easier they include the extra o ring in all kits.

Does this come with the inlet valve n spring unit. Or just the seals ?
