Be careful if you're diabetic
These are decent iron tablets but be careful if you're diabetic. My wife took these and for a while she was getting unexplained peaks in her blood sugar overnight. When she stopped taking the supplement, the peaks also stopped. Turns out that lactose is one of the top ingredients.

It does what it advertises
I started experiencing a tingling in my legs last year after I went to bed. I would fall asleep and wake up 20 minutes later with a restless feeling in my legs. It would take me a long time to fall back asleep as I would have to stretch my legs etc. to get my legs to calm down. Occasionally my movements would wake up my husband. Then it got worse and I was experiencing a vibrating feeling that was extending up my body. It also started to occur prior to falling asleep instead of waking me up. It was driving me crazy. I went to the doctor in December and had a blood test. I was diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia in December 2009.A side note, I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance 5 years ago. I never had a biopsy to confirm celiac or have been good with maintaining a gluten free diet. It could be a coincidence, but iron deficiency anemia is also a result of celiac due to malabsorption. My doctor recommended this brand of iron pills. I took it in the morning with juice on an empty stomach. I started out taking one and I felt the effects immediately. My restless legs went away. A month or two later, I noticed the restlessness again, so I started taking two. Unfortunately, I am now taking 3 pills and have started taking 1 in the morning and 2 in the evening. I went back to the doctor's last month and my results showed an improvement. I hope that I don't have to increase the dosage, but according to the site I can take 4 max a day. We shall see.

Easy way to take tablets out from the packaging
Its too early to comment on the effectiveness of this pill, but I share the pain which everybody is feeling about the packaging of these tablets. While trying different ways to make it easier, I found a way which will ease your pain and make it very easy to remove tablets from its strip.Take warm water in a bowl and dip the whole strip in the water for few minutes. Since packaging is water proof, tablets are safe. After few minutes, remove the strip from the water and start peeling the paper backing. The paper should be easily peeled off now in one piece and you'll end up with only silver foil backing which should bring smile on your face and no more fighting with the packaging :)Once the paper backing is removed, wipe the strip dry and store it back in the box.

iron pill is NOT FOR EVERYONE
i was told to take these for borderline anemia because these are supposed to be the best and least-upsetting to the stomach. well, after just taking it for two days, i had a terrible reaction to it, felt nauseated and could hardly eat for a week - i seriously thought i had iron poisoning or something. your body is supposed to be good at regulating iron level, so maybe it was just too much for me since my body was fine with my iron level.this is supposed to be the best iron pill, but it definitely wasn't good for me. i highly recommend that you research and investigate before taking iron pills.

Okay
Needed to take iron supplement prior to surgery to boost my red blood cell count. Doctor recommended Slow Fe. Product caused me some gastric issues. No longer need to take this product.

Low Iron?
When my doctor suggested I try an iron supplement as my iron level has gotten quite low. I looked into it but did nothing about it. I heard all about the side effects of iron supplements and I was not having any of it. At my next annual check up, the doctor asked what iron supplement am I taking? I said, none. I am eating lots of "high in iron" foods instead. It was not a good answer. I'm not a big eater to begin with so what is "eating lots???" My iron level got even lower and I started to see the effect on my nails. The doctor recommended Slow Fe and it has worked for me with NO side effects, none what so ever! I feel great and the doctor is pleased with the results of my last blood work too. Thanks, Slow Fe.

Troubling packaging
The product is too hard to access individual pills. Older folks may have problems opening the double-layered film. I wish they would bottle the tablets!
