MTECH USA MT-588 Fixed Blade Knife Series

Great Knife for conceal carry around neck, however the chain supplied with this knife is junk. It will break super easy. So I went online and researched and ordered 6 or 7 different black 3.0mm chains. I found one I liked that was 3.2mm and fits the holes on the knife case well and the chain is durable. You may want to reconsider paracord because someone could use it against you to choke you. This chain will break away but you need force! Much better than the chain they sent with knife. The chain we ordered was 3.2mm (Glossy Black) and has a nice coating which makes the chain feel better around your sweaty neck.Look for the following chain set on Amazon:2.4-4mm Stainless Steel Black Ball Chain Necklace for Men Women, 3Pcs Beaded Military Chains for Men, Dog Tag Chain Necklaces Set, 18-30 InchWe chose the 30" length which fit perfectly with perfect placement for both me and my wife when wearing this conceal carry knife under or above your clothing on both male and female. (ages 57 & 61) (5' 5" and 5' 8"). I tried about 6 or 7 different dog chains and the above link worked perfectly. Now there are three chains in the kit for whichever size you order (We ordered 30"). the larger 3.2mm chain worked and felt the best of ALL our choices. Looked the best and was the most durable while remaining flexible for use as a neck knife. Great for the wife when she goes on walks and great for me as a backup knife. With the above dog tag chain (in same black color) it looks nice and you forget it is there. Hope this helps others who love the knife but hate the chain!

I needed a sharp smaller blade with a sheath that had a clip. This is perfect size, nice and sharp, bonus of finger hole placement, double bonus of sheath having a chain that can be removed or added when needed. I would have liked to get the black one instead but this one is very pretty.

Excellent blade and sharpness. Grip is way too short! I attached a Paracord loop to help grab and grip the knife.Another 1-1/2 to 2-1/2” added to the grip would be perfect for me but I’ll deal with it. As a utility light weight neck knife or last ditch pokey slice knife it will definitely do the job. I very well might add some monkey tape to add to the grip. Once you get your index finger through it, you’re good to go. Just be aware it is super small.Considering taking a little off the sheath for better grabability. Chain could be a little longer too.

Buy one!!I bought myself one and was soooo impressed I had to order 2 more for my adult children.This is absolutely a must have. It's light. Fits nicely in the hands or on any finger.I bought this for when I'm walking my dogs, so I have extra protection if another loose stray dog or stranger attacks myself or my dogs.

Quality , for a nice price

It's pretty embarrassing when you are showing some friends this knife on your neck, and then when you pull the knife out of it's socket the necklace breaks. The knife is very well made. The necklace sucks. Make sure you buy a stronger studier necklace if you place on wearing it around your neck. It also has a clip for your belt or to clip on your pants.

I gave this 5 stars because it is great at being what it is and doing what it's meant for but a few things you need to know.#1 most important. This item is NOT A KNIFE.It's not designed nor intended to be used as a knife. If your looking for a neck knife at the same price point, I recommend the (MTech 20-30). That's a knife.#2 when you first get this item, it is extremely hard to remove it from the sheath but it will get easier once the sheath wears in.#3 the chain it comes with is garbage, throw it away and add your own cordage.#4 I see a lot of complaints about its sharpness, again, it's not a knife. It's design and shape does the work and the sharpness, steel quality and edge retention doesn't matter. I've tested this on several tin cans without damage.....well.....it did dull the ridiculously sharp point a little.#5 if you hold it correctly your finger will probably fit.#6 if you think you know how to properly use this, you probably don't. Keep in mind it's not a knuckle duster ring and using that way will probably break your finger.#7 for whatever reason you buy this, be careful because it has the potential to cause serious injury.
