Skandia – Talvi – 13 Piece Block Knife Set

Update:I have now used all the knives multiple times, and I haven’t had any issues at all. Still sharp, still sturdy. Excellent buy.This is a stunning knife set. I decided to go ahead and buy it even though reviews (on other sites) said they weren’t well-made, and I am so happy I did. I haven’t used the bird’s beak, slicing, or bread knife yet, but I will update this review when I do.

I do love these knives and bought them bc they were on Oprah's favorite things last Christmas. However, I did not begin using them until September. Though they look sleek and take up little counter space, the wood block has cracked where the slots are for the knives. It is not falling apart or broken, but the crack down the top does not look good. Though the knives are good quality the rest is lacking

the knives are the BEST! my wooden knife holder has cracked openhow can i get another one?

Despite being one of Oprah's "Favorite Things" this set is way overpriced for what it is. The wooden block will start to split as it is not finished/sealed at the bottom. The knives must go in vertically, which makes it impossible to place under a cabinet. After less than a year of use, the 7” Santoku Knife broken in half while I was using it. Their website doesn't state any warranty and there is no phone number to contact them.I filled out the customer service request form, but doubt I will be getting a replacement knife.

Love this knife set! Stylish and functional! Looks beautiful displayed in counter. The knife has a great handle and grip too...perfect for slicing, dicing, chopping, and more!!

Thanks Oprah. I love the look and feel. What else is great, the steak knives blend great with any table setting.

This is the second set I bought that the block for the knives was cracked. I let the first one go, but this one is a gift, so I am sending it back. They do make it easy to return though. UPS will come pick it up. Hopefully the next one will be better. It is a beautiful set.

DO NOT BUY!!! the knives rusted after one week and the block split down the side! HORRIBLE!!!
