SouthpoleMen's Straight Relaxed-Fit Cross Hatch Denim

I am a a former athlete that has gained some weight, like most that no longer compete. I have been searching for pants that fit me. I was a runner and speed was my biggest asset. With that came large thighs and hams. I typically wear a 42 waist. In most pants I get a 34 inseam, but that because most pants push the crouch area up so high. I hate it. Is it too much to ask for a little room down there.I've tried numerous pants locally. Finally I decided to try Amazon in hopes of finding something that can't be found locally. Well, Amazon may be hating me to because of all the returns. Sorry.. However, I decided to try these. I've had other Southpole items, mainly poly shirts that I really liked in the past. Well, I ordered the 42x32 because 42x34 didn't seem to be offered. Let me say, during about a 3 week period, I ordered maybe 10 different Loose fit pants in sizes 42x32 and 42x34. I did not put any of the other 42x32 completely on before knowing they were just too tight. I order Lee, Wrangler, and Nautica in their various Loos fit styles. Each one was tight in the crouch and along the thighs. Only the Southpole jeans actually got pulled all the way up. They, even with 32 inseam, were long enough.There is something to say about clothing and whom they are marketed to. I've now ordered each of the three available colors for my size in this pant. Every other pair has been returned or in process.Call me old-school. I can't stand tight fitting pants. I hope that fad passes really soon.

If this purchase was made, and there was NOTING to compare this prodcut to, then everything would be quite different. I could say that my expectations were slightly skewed. The color is a pretty good match. They are a bit long, but with washing they will probably shrink a bit. While the legs, thighs, and waist are a little snug that in itself is not a deal breaker. But then I haven't washed them yet. And as I previously stated, with nothing to compare them to all could very well be acceptable.However, that is not my situation. I purchased this particular brand, and this particular style number because I wanted another pair, just like the ones I have. That is NOT what I received. The new pair is about two sizes larger (according to the tag) than the old ones, but (with the exception of the waist ALONE), the old ones fit BETTER. The old ones have more leg space and more thigh space. Not sure how that works. The new ones seem to be a bit stretchy quite unlike the older ones. They also appear to be about half of the thickness of the old ones, a major difference. They are also made in a different country.So we have a new pair, that is thinner, smaller (although two sizes larger) and stretchy. This is not the first bad clothing purchase experience I've had with Amazon and I'm aware that they have many vendors. But how are you supposed to know what you will end up with when you order an identical brand and style number.

The jeans are good. Unfortunately, I needed new jeans because I had put on some weight. I like the relaxed fit . It was comfortable in every place but the waist. I put on another button since there was almost two (2) inches of extra fabric. When I did, the fly zipper kept falling down. Eventually, part of the zipper failed and I called Amazon Customer Service. I contacted Amazon Customer Service. They quickly replaced the jeans. The new jeans are comfortable and seem to be well made. My problem was a fluke. Both pairs appear to be well made.Update June 8, 2018: I want to state clearly the customer service at Amazon was excellent. They helped me when I reluctantly called about a problem with these jeans. They were good enough to replace them without cost when I brought a problem to their attention. The problem is with the product themselves. Although they fit well and are great on first inspection, they are faulty. On the first pair of Southpole jeans the zipper tab pulled off in a few weeks. This had never happened to me before. Jeans are supposed to be rugged and last for a while. Amazon customer service was kind enough to replace them. The replacement jeans had a similar problem. While the tab on the jeans stayed in place, the zipper itself opened after a week or so. At first I thought that this was was a case of my having a weird anatomy which put too much pressure on the zipped. However, it became apparent that I was not responsible for the defect and the jeans just had a cheap zipper. Unless you have a perfect figure, I would stay away from anything made by Southpole.

While the existence of vanity sizing may be up for debate, the fit of these jeans are not.I use tape measure(that is very accurate) to measure myself and this is one of the very few companies that actually label their jeans TO THE MEASURED SIZE. I am a 34 in the waist and these jeans fit perfectly. I bought three pairs that all came in slightly larger than 34, but after the first wash, they all fit precisely. The jeans are very comfortable and have the right amount of leg room.I used to wear Southpole jeans in college, but the store I used to buy them from closed shop years ago. Since then, I have struggled to find jeans that fit well and are labeled accurately. I am so glad that Southpole now sells on Amazon. Definitely worth the money!

It's a shame my mother thought these were used pants, by how they looked faded on the knees, and I tried convincing her they were brand-new; I still had the baggies to recycle, to prove they were all-new! These brand-new pants fit me nicely, but they were a little big on me! When buying clothes online, you have to get sizes bigger than usual to make sure they fit you, and to allow for shrinking in the wash! I wasn't about to get all-new pants that look intentionally tore-up and full of holes, that'd be pretty dumb!

The jeans came as advertised, it is what I expected. Wasn’t tight like other jeans. With these I feel like I can do the Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick with ease now

Great value! I ordered one pair for my 6'4" son, who takes a 36" inseam. The inseam length is not specified, but these jeans fit him perfectly, and look good too. He liked them so much he asked for three more.

I ordered a size 36x34 but I think I got a 34x34. The waist was too small for a 36" size. I have other Southpole jeans 36x34 and they fit very well.Please check the sizing on the garment, as this particular jeans was wrong even though it had the size on the label.Thank you.

I bought it for my husband. It is good quality pants. If you like a bit of shine, this is the one for you but my husband does not care for it. It still sits in his closet.

Bought 2 pairs of Southpole jeans size 29 and this pair was a great deal smaller. Maybe size up an inch or two when purchasing this item.

It is cheap, but this note is only a reminder, Don't wash it frequently in the washing machine.

Love the style of these pants. Too bad their sizing is so out of whack. Ordered a 40 waist that fit like a small 36. I didn't realize their sizes were china appropriate. Already started the return process... too bad.
