Excellent flour for bulk purchases but beware of prices
First of all, the shipping was superb. I purchased it on March 13th with expectation that it would arrive between march 18th and March 23rd. Imagine my surprise when I got a knock on the door today (the 16th) and the box of flour was there already! 5 stars for that!I have brought this brand before during the midst of covid19 and honestly it is an excellent flour. All of my products were very flavorful and consistent and I was very impressed with the quality of the flour. Baked products were very light and I liked that this is all purpose so I could use it for just about everything. That said, I brought it at 50lbs for roughly 50 dollars in 2021. I was very surprised when I came back to purchase this again, due to rising costs and the hope that purchasing in bulk will help ease some of that drain on my wallet, that it is now 50lbs for 73 dollars! I still went ahead and brought as it will be cheaper overall with how much flour I go through anyway but yikes! I may go ahead and buy another bag and freeze it until I need it because I do suspect prices will only continue to go up, especially as food supply chains begin to get impacted due to logistics and the war in Ukraine.Overall, excellent flour product and I will absolutely buy again but I will definitely be keeping an eye on the prices and if it drops, I'll buy several quantities to stockpile.

Fourth 50 pound bag from these guys
I am here to purchase my fourth 50 pound bag from this vendor. At about $1 a pound it is competitive with what I pay at the grocery store. I have looked at purchasing it from other vendors, like baking supply houses. While they may charge a whole lot less, when you factor in the shipping it comes out about the same as here. Purchasing here is easier because I don't have to pretend to be a restaurant. (I am just a fat guy who bakes a lot. Coincidence?)I like to buy my flour in bulk because (1) I don't have to run to the store on "baking day", (2) I like Sir Galahad flour better than other AP flour brands and I can only get it in 50# bags, (3) I have consistency in my baking products because the flour is always the same.Concerning this vendor's contribution to the equation: The flour arrives well protected in a nice box. The expiration date has always been about a year away. The bag itself has always been pristine. I have had no problem with insects or rodents. In case you were wondering what to do with 50 pounds of flour... When the bag arrives, I portion it into one gallon ziplocks. I can fit about 5 pounds per bag, giving me 10 bags of flour. I store the bags in 5 gallon buckets which are sealed with either screw tops or press-to-fit lids. I can fit 4 bags of flour into one bucket. This means it takes 2.5 buckets to store a 50 pound bag. I store these bags in my basement, where it is cool and slightly more humid than the rest of the house.I use individual bags for two reasons. First, it is a good size to work with. I put it right into my pantry. It is not so heavy and unwieldy that I can't move it to the scale for measuring or my work surface for dusting. Second, if there were insect eggs in the flour I am betting that there are not a lot of them and they won't be distributed evenly through the whole bag. It is my hope that if eggs hatch, they only ruin 5 pounds of flour instead of the entire 50 pounds. To help you decide if you could use a 50 pound bag, here is some information about my usage patterns. It is the second day of December. The bag I am replacing I purchased in early July. I also buy bread flour in 50 pound bags. My current bread flour bag is from mid-October. I go through 50 pounds of some sort of flour every 2.5 months. For me, it is totally worth having these bigger bags.Time to get baked! (Like, with bread. Not that other stuff.)

Flower Power!!
What have we made in the past with our flour? English Muffins, Brioche buns, Coffee Cake, Cinnamon Raison bread, Pizza dough, Bialys, Short bread cookies, Snicker Doodles (OMG) the list goes on and on. Dough! You can't bake without it.

Great Flavor and Quality
Like some others I needed a consistent supply of flour during the pandemic shortages. I ordered my first 50 lb. bag in 2020. I am getting ready to order my third bag. This flour produces baked goods, especially bread, with great flavor. I have used it on all sorts of breads and it has never let me down. My family loves the bread I bake with it. I've never had a problem with quality at all. I store it in a large metal can with a lid that can be locked down in an air-tight fashion to prevent spoilage and bugs and just keep topping up my 5 lb. flour canister as needed. Easy as eating pie! I can also tell you that if you have any questions or issues that the King Arthur website has contact numbers and emails; they are very responsive and their attitude is that of wanting to do their best for their customers. I would recommend this flour for home bakers who want to have their supply in bulk. Economical and convenient.

Why buy in bulk
I have always bought my flour in bulk because I use a lot of it for pasta and bread and general baking. Now with prices rising and the war in the Ukraine buying in bulk is definitely a smart idea. I used to buy a generic brand but it’s just not as good as the King Arthur brand that I tried after finding it at the grocery store and baking with it. I have bought both the Galahad and the Lancelot because one is lighter for cakes and pastry and the other is a strong bread flour.

Happy to have
Good to have a steady supply of good flour for the summer! Very happy the bag arrived via UPS in perfect shape despite the weight of the parcel.

Great Flour
I love this flour! I use it for everything but mainly sourdough and biscuits. I could not get my sourdough starter going until I switched to this flour and now it is going strong. Great quality!
