Cryo-Max Cold Pack, 8 Hour Reusable Cold Therapy Ice Pack for Elbows, Knees, Neck + More, Medium, 6" x 12" (1 Count)

This ice pad is the coldest and longest lasting ice pad on the market, when you first use it do not put it directly on skin. It is so cold that it will burn your skin. You need a thin cloth like a thin shirt between you and the product after 15/20 minutes. I remove the thin shirt and put it directly on my skin for maximum coldness and depth into the tissue/muscles/nerves I have been using them for 20 years they work. They do breakdown if they’re in the freezer too long other words for months on end so once you’re done using it and you know, you may not need it for a while. Remove it from the freezer to preserve the chemicals inside/once you know you’re going to need it once again, then put it back in the freezer.

I swear by these cryomax cold packs. I've never had an ice pack that gets as cold as this one does. It really helps my back pain and I bought the larger one to cover a bigger area of my back so now I can ice almost half my back at once. It is somewhat rigid when it's frozen solid but once it's melted a little it's pretty flexible. They honestly don't lie about how long it stays cold for, I think it stays cold for hours if I'm honest. I do a few 20 minutes on 20 minutes off sessions before needing to put it back into the freezer again which is nice because this gets stored in my basement freezer. I have two of the smaller sizes as well that I picked up a 10 years ago and 5 years ago I bought a second one and while the gel stuff isn't quite what it once was they do still work. Now that I have the bigger one I mainly use those for transporting food in coolers to and from our campground because it stays cold forever.

After 10 different other packs on Amazon these are the best I've found. I have bought these so many times over the years. right now I have 5. 3xT shaped and two medium. also two spares un frozen for replacements, The sleeves always go first and are low quality but I also like to tighten them pretty good. Also in general they will leak if you dont follow the directions or get a bad one and they generally will leak after a couple years of weekly use in my experience. They key things is to not flex the plastic when they are right outta of the freezer when the plastic is most brittle to avoid leaks. they say wait 30mins if you read the directions (i did by coincidence years later...lol). and they will still be just as cold just a bit annoying to wait. you can get away with it if you use them flat or you bend them in reverse and dont force them to curve until they thaw a little however. I found out the hard way after trying to use them on my knees I would try to force them to curve right outta the fridge and they would leak. but exact same type on my back would last forever because it was flat, go figure. I also had one had a small hole from shipping i suspect but Amazon replaced it. to be honest i still use em after all the gel liquid leaks out anyway and they still work relatively well with just the "cubes" as they are separated. Im a warm body and the bigger packs last longer obviously but I get about 1h30m mins iced time and another 30 mins cold time. Best time results I've found for years now. Ice feels great to get to sleep but body temp by morning. I'm a big guy and can lay on them cautiously and no issues other than what I've already said. I do wish they offered a 1×4 square long model to wrap all the way around my knee but I make do with two mediums for now.

These ice packs are AMAZING (will explain the Subscribe & Save caveat). I have chronic pain so I have 2 sets of the ice packs I need that are in a constant rotation. Why you need it: * Once fully frozen, it really does last up to 8 hours. I easily get 6 and usually the full 8. I'm sure the conditions and amount of insulation being used affect this. * You won't find any other kind that stays colder or for longer- I have tried them all, trust me. * The covers they come with are excellent insulators (which you will NEED). The straps are also super helpful for various situations since the strong velcro can stick to any part of the cover. Wrap around any size limb, or use to wrap around/ attach to stuff (I use them to hang the ice pack against the back of my wheelchair for back pain). * Even if only partially frozen, can get a lot of use out of them * The bumps are not uncomfortable * There are some easy work-arounds to some of the problems Tricky things to know/ keep in mind: * They take a long time to get fully frozen, and freeze best with air space in the freezer. I've found it takes 3-4 hours to get completely frozen. The blue bubbles will freeze hard first, then the pink liquid "matrix" will freeze last, and that's where the magic is, you need that pink stuff for it to last longest. * It's not that moldable when fully frozen, but if you use it when the pink isn't completely frozen yet, then it will bend more, along the gaps between blue bubbles. * There's a reason they're offered on "Subscribe & Save"! The pink stuff will eventually leak out (and get stuff wet), and with continued use some of the blue dots will also pop and leak out. Without the pink matrix, you can still use it with just the dots, but it's not nearly as long-lasting (freezes faster though). So with constant daily use like me, you'll need to replace them after about 4-6 months. (I don't recommend actually getting on S&S, just replace as needed.) Work-around: Always keep these in a 2-gallon ziplock bag! Doing this has extended the life greatly, and prevents the liquid getting on things when they do leak. (You might need to replace the bags once in a while but that's better than losing the liquid.) I also duct-taped around the edges of a couple of my ice packs, but it's unclear if this has made much difference, I can't tell where exactly the liquid gets out. The bags are most important. Pics- 1) a fully frozen one I've been using for about 6 months, in a ziploc bag. One or 2 blue dots have popped but nothing leaking, so it's fully functional 2) A thawed and "dying" ice pack- several blue bubbles have popped, the pink has begun to leak out (my bag is worn out too), I will have to replace this one soon to get 8-hours of function per use 3) This is a frozen but completely leaked out one, the pink is gone (I didn't have this in a bag!), I can still use it for some things with just the frozen bubbles, and it is flexible but will thaw a lot more quickly. (Side note- the 6x12 don't last as long as the 12x12.) The bottom line/ TL,DR: these are definitely worth it despite the leaking requiring you to replace them periodically. They're the best and only solution for nearly all-day use for chronic pain and/or taking on a day out.

I have gone through so many ice packs. I really like this once. It's one of the better ice packs. It's like a bunch of tiny ice cubes & stays cold for a long time. Good for injuries or when you just want to cool down.

Used ONE TIME and it leaked pink fluid onto and INTO my new $1200 mattress. I bought two of these 6x12's many many years ago (like 7 or 8 years ago) from my local Walmart and those two are still perfect (same CryoMax brand). I wanted two more but my Walmart no longer sells this brand/style. I did buy and try one that Walmart carried for a while (bought my third one last year), but it was some clay mixture inside and that one sucks :p it only lasts maybe half an hour. So I came to Amazon to get a couple more of the "better ones". I got this one 6x12 and a larger 12x12 on June 22. I opened and inspected them, put them in their blue covers and then into the freezer. I used them the next night, June 23rd. I have residual hot flashes (postmenopausal) and pretty sure I have hyperthyroidism (unmedicated), so my body is almost always out of whack at bedtime (overheating right away). I put these CyroMaxes on top of my legs and on my chest, or next to my cheek. When they work they're a godsend. They keep my body temp from spiking and I can fall asleep within an hour. About half an hour into relaxing - I felt dripping by my cheek. At first I thought it was condensation (as my other older ones also do just a little when they come right out of the freezer). I was juuuuust about dozed off when my brain said wait a minute - this things still dripping. At that point it had been in use for about 45 minutes. Get up, turn the light on, see what's going on, and it's leaking all over my bed! Run it to the bathroom sink - dripping all the way - it's just gushing out :p Take the blue over off and nearly all the pink fluid is gone with a huge hole in the corner and one of the blue sections in the middle of the row on that same side also burst/missing most of its fluid. I took one of my old ones out of its blue cover and compared the two then took the 12x12 out of its cover. The plastic they used on my old ones is far better than the new ones. The old ones have a more pliable, softer feeling (yet much sturdier) clear plastic casing. The new ones have a really brittle, crinkly plastic. This is not an improvement! This is a major design flaw. Once frozen the plastic just cracks under the slightest movement. I can only guess the Company went with a cheaper plastic to make the product cheaper to manufacture, which is an obvious mistake. They can't possibly "not know" that this is happening. I came here to read the reviews and see that this is a problem that many other buyers had. I won't return it because I already threw away the box (recycled it at my work the morning of June 23rd, then used the new ice packs for the first time that night) thinking there was not going to be any issue as I'd already had and used this same size and/or brand for years. My mistake :p It's a real drag that the Company ruined what was once a perfect product - and now it's clearly Not a perfect product. I can't find any other brands out there that are as good as this brand USED to be...which now includes this brand itself...their quality fallen to the masses of cheap unreliable products...

I was in need of a Very cold (but safe for the skin) ice pack to use after my weekly, manual, physical therapy appointments. Because my therapist works deep into my abdomen, helping to loosen abdominal tissues, bound by adhesions, it often causes inflammation and swelling after each session. So, consistent and very cold ice packs are essential for the day or two after each session. These cryopacks seemed to be just what I needed, and they were (until a couple of months ago). For the first 6 months or so, they worked better than expected. I was impressed by how long they stayed cold (not the 8 hrs that they claim, but at least a good 4 hours or so, which is still much longer than any other pack that I've tried) and how snug the packs fit, in their soft velour fabric covers, secured in place by stretch bands and velcro. Because, my abdomen is awkwardly shaped it was surprising how well the pack was able to contour and maintain maximum contact with the areas that most needed the cold. I was so impressed by my first cryopack that I quickly ordered a second so that I could alternate them for the hours of cryotherapy that were needed. A couple of months ago, however, I thought one of the packs may have sprung a leak because I woke from my nap with water all over my back, side, abdomen etc. I was Soaking wet (and cold, of course). I'm still not sure how it soaks all of the way through my clothing or where that amount of liquid comes from, if not from a leak in the pack itself? However, every time I use either of them, whether I'm reading a book, washing dishes, or lying down, I'll suddenly notice a pool of water beginning to form around wherever the pack is secured. It's possible that it may be condensation (somehow?? Even though they always go back into the freezer dry) or a tiny leak which is being wicked up by my clothing. Whatever is causing the packs to leave so much water underneath them is very uncomfortable and there doesn't seem to be a remedy. Thankfully they worked so well that first 6 months that I still feel that it's worth purchasing another two (even if they only last another 6 months). They definitely do the job I needed them to do and are the only packs that I've ever found that stay as cold as they do, for as long as they do. I need this type of pack to reduce the severe inflammation after my weekly manual therapy sessions, but I wish there was a solution for the pooling water that is now occurring with both packs. So, I leave you with a mixed review. I Loved these packs and they would be the perfect if they hadn't either sprung a leak or began to, somehow, collect condensation that is wicked up by my clothing (causing a very wet, very cold and uncomfortable situation). I still feel that they are worth another try. Maybe the problem was user error. I'll update my review if this was the case.

Well designed: 1) You can put it directly on the skin because it's covered with fleecy fabric that's thick enough to protect the skin and is soft and comfortable. The cover is also firmly attached to the ice pack inside so it can't slip around. 2) The velcro strap is long, sturdy and stretchy enough that you can wrap the ice pack firmly around an arm or ankle and it stays in place. 3) Well-made. It's not going to fall apart 4) Stays cold for a long time (5-6 hours) and refreezes pretty quickly

What's not to like... they do exactly what they are meant to do. Everything about them feels quality. I am using them in my cooling vests because they are very flexible and stay cold for hours.

It does work better than a flat gel pack as it bends to the required shape and works as a 'cold' pack for hours rather than minutes without frostbite issues- not entirely sure about the 8 hour claim but remains useable for much longer than powder based packs or real ice

False advertising, and very poor product. Same as every other 1$ coldpacks. Stays cold about 1.5hrs. and package says "to stay cold for 8hrs, product needs to be tr-freezed on freezer every 2 hours for 30min 😂
