Perfect fit
Nice helmet. My second one

Really, Really Nice, but...
This is an awesome helmet and I'd definitely buy it again. The only gripe I have is that when the inner sunglasses are deployed, I wish they came down a little further.

Order next size up, nice helmet
My head measures on the upper medium side. Based off the other reviews I ordered a large, and glad I did! It was a snug fit at first, but got broke in after a few rides. Love the spring loaded shaded shield. The clear shield does tend to move down in high vibration/wind situations. I got caught in some rain, and the water beads up and slides off, the clear shield which is a plus! It’s light weight and comfortable. Good extra protection over a half helmet, and allows for better visibility, and wind to help cool you on a hot summer day over a full face.

Good helmet, cheaply built
I've always liked Bell helmets. My dad manufactured the first Bell Star faceplate molds back in 1966-'67. Even though the company has gone through a couple of corporate changes, Bell helmets are still good. I purchased this Mag-9 because I like the 3/4/Jet helmet design. I haven't made the jump to the intercom Bluetooth communication systems yet, so can't comment on that feature of the Mag-9. My head measures 59.5cm (23 1/4-23 1/2") and is a medium oval shape. As I fell right in between L and XL, I ordered the XL size and it fit perfectly. The cheek pads were a little tight, but Bell has less thick cheek pads in stock, not like Shoei's cheek pads that are ALWAYS back-ordered, so I figured I'd just order a set of those as the rest of the helmet was fitting just right. Unfortunately, when I opened the box, the peak visor and the sun visor control were sitting loose in the box. They were easily attached as they have plastic bosses molded into them that easily push into mounting points on the helmet. The sun visor control pushes in over its square mounting point. The main clear visor and the drop-down sun visor are optically perfect. On the road, the helmet is noisy, a little noisier than my LS2 3/4 helmet, and way noisier than my Shoei. We are riding motorcycles, though, so . . . The venting is excellent, way better than my LS2 or Shoei helmets. The drop-down sun visor is a bit difficult to engage, but it pops up quickly with a bang and actually works well once you get used to it. The problem I encountered was the peak visor kept popping out, just like it arrived in the box, taking the drop-down visor's control with it. If this hadn't happened, I'd have kept this helmet. The Mag-9 is a good design that is just a little bit cheaply built.

as it works great for my wife
Don't know why this helmet is titled "Mens", as it works great for my wife. I also have this model (in flat black) w/ the SENA 10 clamp kit. I had to go elsewhere to get her the clamp kit (mic, speakers, bracket) that is specific to this helmet and sold (labeled) thru Bell. An extra $40, but I knew this going in. Installing the clamp kit is a piece of cake. We had the SENA 10 system installed on our closed face helmets, but wanted this system on the open face/ 3/4 helmets for warm weather riding. We ride 2-up and use this system only as a wire-free intercom, so I have no idea how it works for bike-to-bike comm. The SENA 10 units clip right off one helmet and snap on to the other. Real easy. I got the size M for myself and also for the little woman. My head measures just on the lower range for M, and her's is even a bit smaller, but she said she wouldn't want anything smaller (she had size S helmets before that she wasn't too fond of the fit). The "D-rings" and strap are very easy to work - thread, tighten, and snap. The hood piece is out of eye range, so it's useless as a sunblock. More of a style thing, I think. It can be removed, but I don't think it changes the wind noise level (we ride behind a full fairing). The 2 vent inlets don't allow any "felt" breeze thru, w/ or w/o the hood. Also, no change of noise level, vents opened or closed (behind my big fairing/ windshield. You may be able to feel some breeze on an open m/c, but I don't know. The dark shade is just a touch darker than some other helmets' drop-down sun visor. Still, it could be darker. It also should come down a bit more as it's easy to see bright light while looking down. The clear shield can be flipped up to use just the dark shield, or no shield at all w/ just a pair of glasses. The price is a bit higher than it should be for this Chinese made helmet. Also, Bell doesn't allow retailers to lower the price on current model helmets. If so, I think this Mag-9 Sena would be around $100-$120

Fits well, but undersized. Some design issues.
As others have stated, the Bell Mag-9 seems to be a little undersized, meaning if you normally wear a medium, order a large as I did. I have several medium helmets from another manufacturer which fit me well and a large size Mag-9 fits me just as well. Some people have complained about this helmet being loud while riding. Yes, it is louder than a full coverage helmet. It's loud because it's an open faced helmet so not much can be done about that.As far as design issues, the lever to operate the tinted drop down visor is extremely stiff to operate, especially when raising the visor. When it does raise, it does so with a very loud bang. Also, it doesn't drop down far enough to be fully useful.Lastly, the so called sun shade on top doesn't extend far enough forward to do much good. It's more of a fashion statement than anything else.

Very comfortable
I needed a helmet that was more comfortable when wearing my Sena Bluetooth/camera. Typically I wear an x/small. But I ordered a small. It fits perfectly, even with the ear headset installed. I have never had a helmet with cheeks pads. Always preferred the 3/4 or 1/2 helmet without them.

Broke first time it was used.
The helmet looked OK out of the box. The first time it was used, the inner darkened visor extended and would not retract. I had to remove the inner lining of the helmet so that I could retract the visor and actually get back home again - night was about to fall. This obviously negated the possibility of returning or exchanging the item.Very disappointing.

Great helmet!
We ordered this helmet and it was too small. I thought this is going to be a night mare to return...Wrong. The whole experience was great one, even though it didn't fit. LOL

If only it wasn’t noisy.
Good value for the money.Less weight and less wind noise will make it a great helmet .
