GM Parts 24236554 Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Fitting

Works for 2008 Chevy ltz 3.9L

Changed this out on my Pontiac g6 after my transmission lines rotted through. I only was able to do the top because the bottoms bolt was rounded off and I don’t feel like changing the whole radiator. But it worked perfectly.

Wow! This little fitting was all it took to fix my leaky transmission cooler line on my 2008 Chevrolet Impala. Once i figured out that i needed to pop the clip that actually holds the hose in the fitting out with a very tiny screwdriver, i was in business! You have to loosen the bracket that's holding the transmission line in place. Follow the line from the fitting a couple of feet toward the front of the engine and you'll see the bracket, it has a 13 mm bolt holding it in. Once you loosen that, you can just pull the plastic cover off of the fitting, pop the clip out with a very tiny screwdriver, pull the hose out of the fitting and then use a 19 mm socket to get the old fitting out. You lose some transmission fluid but it's not a big deal.

Used on my 2002 Chevy Venture, there were 3 different types on my vehicle.2 on radiator were the same, 2 on the transmission were different, 1 had check-valve 1 did not.Of the 4 on my vehicle only the top radiator was reusable after 20 years of service.These has o-rings inside that will age over time, and if lines corroded, that corrosion likely followed up to these o-rings and even though not leaking now, they may not handle a cooling line swap. I was not willing to take that chance and have a pressure leak while making long trips in my vehicle, are you? They are cheap enough...

Got this for my wife's 2007 Trailblazer. Amazon says that this part does not fit this particular vehicle but it does. After not being able to find this part anywhere else and judging by the picture I deemed it to be the same part that was on the vehicle, I decided to take a chance and order it anyway. Glad I did as it does fit, is actually better than the original part, and it fixed the leak problem. It replaces the fittings that are located at the bottom of the radiator where the transmission cooler lines connect to the radiator. If you have leaks where the lines go into these fittings, this part will fit and work. You will lose a small amount of transmission fluid but this is an easy and quick job.

the long and the short are not interchangeable. How ever if you buy the wrong one, it is easy enough to swap the two o rings. Putting a short one in place of a long one bypasses the cooling path.
