Is this ball only made for pitching practice or can this ball take hits?

I used it to help transition from 10” ball to 12” ball. After throwing/pitching the 14” then the 12 felt normal for the kids. We never hit it but it feels like any other softball.

would this be good to use with a 10U pitcher?

For 10U, I would probably choose 12” ball to practice spins with depending on her hand size. As she gets older and bigger, I would go with the 14” ball.
