Seeds came on time. I grew yellow onions in my small garden last year. First time growing onions and had about 3 dozen planted from seed that grew. I just wanted to try a different onion this year, so I picked Walla Walla. I planted about 50 seeds on January 6th and most if not all germinated and are about six inches tall now, Jan 30th. I’m growing them indoors under florescent light 14 hrs a day.

Shallots are delicious and super easy to grow from seed. These came up quickly. I'll order more for the fall.

planted several if these to germinate but only one skinny sliver came up and died. Not sure if these are worth the cost and time when just plant some from the market.

I am rating the germination and apparent hardiness of these seeds as I will not know until the end of the season if the shallots do well and I like the result. I got at least 70% germination and the tiny plants survived my haphazard transplanting and at least three frosts so far.

These are onion seeds. They are not large enough to eat yet. They are not even “up” yet! Flavor is yet to be announced. “Warmth” and “Thickness” ?? Like I said, these are onion seeds!

I believe every seed came up. I have onions everywhere and they are good enough to eat by themselves. With plenty of water they are very sweet.
