I bought these to hold a hose that runs from a humidifier into a red-eyed tree frog terrarium. I put the suction cups on the hose, but when I came home from work the next day, the suction cups had fallen from the glass. My poor froggies had been without proper humidity all day. I cleaned the suction cups with rubbing alcohol and reattached them; they fell again within a minute. HERE'S HOW I FIXED THE PROBLEM: I went to the kitchen and got a tiny bit of olive oil and applied it to the suction cups with my finger. The oil acts as a seal that fills in microscopic gaps between the rubber and the glass. The suction cups haven't fallen since a single application of olive oil, and my frogs are happy, healthy, and comfortable.
