I guess it costs that much because of the odd size.I rent and I had to buy this light bulb. It’s an odd size so you can’t find them in stores. I know. I looked. Apparently this is well known. Hence the price.

I use these in my bathroom fixtures. Unfortunately, this size bulb is unavailable at retail stores in Anchorage AK. Only, a commercial warehouse sells them at a steep price. Even with shipping to Alaska, these are a better deal. I have had two batches shipped to Alaska with no problems.

Works great
I ordered this bulb from amazon because it is an uncommon length and I couldn't find it at my local hardware store. It came packaged very well and the bulb was in perfect condition when I opened the package. It fits perfectly and is very bright with no warm-up time.
