These are the Good Old Days: Motorcycle Memories of the 50s, 60s & 70s

Just like I remembered…..
Excellent stories about the grand old days of motorcycling from a fondly remembered era. Well written and entertaining, it brings back the aromas of two stroke exhaust and well-worn leather, and the sheer joy or riding with buddies before all the trails were fenced off. I would love to see a volume two.

Brings Back Memories
I rode a motorcycle in and around Chula Vista in 69-70. This was a nostalgic trip through what was going on then. The short chapter stories of motorcycle riding, racing and off-road mishaps provided a week or two diet of reading I enjoyed. Steve Kukla even provided the name of my favorite canyon riding area, the name of which I had forgotten after 50+ years. Thanks for the memories!

Great book!
I couldn't put it down. Growing up in the same era as offroad motorcycles were evolving in the US, I could relate to these stories. I've been riding off road (and on) for 50 years. My friends and I had the near same adventures as kids growing up and riding in the Oakland hills and all-over northern California! Before houses were built and some streets were paved, riding in the bare lots in Emeryville, Redwood and all over. Racing came later. Nothing beat the early days-

historical facts of this book are spot on
I lived not far from the editor of this story Steve Kukla in the 70's and 80's and rode motorcycles in all of the places he mentioned and know alot of the people he spoke about. It was a great memroy to relive again and those memories are what helped me as a father to share with my own family and we have been making those same memories going to the desert and enjoying and respecting the outdoors. They helped me and my family grow into positive people we all are today. Thanks for the great read. Corky Weeks

Wasn’t what I expected.
It was all about dirt track racing and nothing else.
